Anyone else not having as much fun as a single player? I feel like I used to be able to hop in and feel like I accomplished something each time I logged in, but now its feels like im wasting my time. Havent had much luck or motivation to do the raids. I only play solo cause the 10 people or so I could rely on, to play with, gave up on the game. Its probably just me, but was just curious. I really wish they had match making for the content.
EDIT 5-17
Amazed at the responses guys! I just wanted to clarify that yes, I understand that I could use LFG or play a different game (which I do) its just that this game isnt as friendly towards the solo player. I used to have 2 groups of people to play with but they all became jilted by the game and quit. Im essentially the last guy holding out for this game still. Haha. The biggest issue right now I have is loot progression, and something to chase. Like a grasp of malok with the perfect role! LOVE heroic strikes feeling Heroic. I just wish there was a carrot to chase there like in D1. Thanks again for all the responses.

Edited by manicdrake: 5/20/2018 9:52:59 PMDestiny 1 raided with regular mates then after around TTK we all got bored and drifted away. Destiny 2 , 4 mates and myself played and grew bored around 2 weeks in, they all left and refuse to pay for a dlc. CoO really nailed the coffin lid shut. So now I'm a solo player not really bothered about trying to find the right kinda ppl ( I'm 35 now) but a little bored of being on my tod and not being able to raid ( yes I am aware of the lonley hearts colum of LFG as it's known) edit Btw if anyone else is looking for someone else to just shoot things with, potentially chatting shite whilst doing so hit me up. Manicdrake ps4.

I spent the vast majority of D1 as a solo player. Most of my raids and nightfalls were done via lfg. I avoided trials like the plague since I'm bad at pvp, but I always did iron banner because it dropped gear to increase your light. Even as a solo player, it always seemed like there was something fun to do. Getting matched with a couple good randoms and running strikes for hours, and maybe adding another person to your friends list. Going into crucible knowing that even though you may not be good, eventually, everything will click, and you'll play better than you believed you could. Going to skywatch and finding 3 or 4 other randoms waiting for the warsat or enemies moving against each other, just so you could melt Urzok. I still play D1 regularly, and am now part of a D1 clan. For me, D2 lost the rhythm. Between the static rolled loot, the dumbing down of the subclasses, moving special weapons into the heavy slot, and numerous other changes that I don't feel were necessary. I tried Leviathan with a clan, but I didn't even find that fun. It seemed contrived and gimmicky. I've played through both expansions hoping to recapture the feeling that kept my playing D1 on a daily basis, but it just isn't there. Eventually I realized that doing the milestones was just going through the motions. The enjoyment was gone. If you're enjoying it, that's fantastic, and I wish you the best!

Edited by Synge_X: 5/19/2018 3:23:06 AMThis whole solo thing is some of the stupidest shit I’ve heard from this community yet... and that’s saying a lot. What the -blam!- has changed? Other than the fact that light level is a bit more difficult to obtain, what exactly is inhibiting you from performing all of the same actions and activities that you were doing before? Plenty of the new weapons that were added to the game, including powerful exotics can be completely soloed. All of the crucible content including iron banner and trials are all capped. If you are not planning on doing raids, then what is the need for Max light level? Two of the raid events can be completed with minimal light level. I’m sorry to be rude man, but this is all just manufactured bullshit from the community. Another outrage for absolutely nothing, when the community literally complained day in and day out for more of a grind. If this post was centered around adding more solo events such as being able to replay the campaign in a higher difficulty, or more difficult patrols/Lost Sectors that yield better loot then I would be 100% behind you. But as it stands, this whole solo movement, is just more of the same dopamine driven need for validation online.

bought this DLC last week end...got through first stage of main mission in order to progress I need to level up ...problem is only been online twice since then and even then noone around to do public events with....all I see is tumbleweed...I wasted my money on this DLC...as a D1 player and stayed with it till D2 due to my love for the game...I kidded myself that Warmind was maybe a return to the original feel of the game....I was wrong, the player base has not returned and with that... my time with this game sadly is finally over...I will not be returning...goodbye Guardians!

As a new solo player, currently having fun with the game solo. I bought both D2 and Warmind so I can get up to the soft cap at 340, I think. My expectation for this game as a solo player is quite low which is why I guess I am having fun. Having played Warframe, The Division and Destiny when they all first came out on the PS4, I have learned none of them are designed for solo player end game content. I joined a clan for Warframe but even playing most of the time with my clan, the repetitious grind in the same spots for not much loot gain cause myself and most of my clan to leave Warframe and move on to something else. I came back once 3 years later but didn't see much improvement for solo players. For Destiny, I sold the game after 3 weeks as basic strikes past level 23 had no matching making. Just didn't have the available gaming time to arrange play dates. My game time was hop on for a hour here or two hours there, whenever I could catch a break from real life responsibilities. The Division was just a repetitious grind after a certain point. I bought the season pass but didn't like anything they were offering in the passes so just sold the game and wrote off the pass. Now I no longer pre orders these types of game or buy expansions upfront. The $5 savings on the season passes usually turns out to be a $20 lose or more as the expansions aren't worth it nor contain anything I like. For the base game, I'll wait a year for the large price drop before buying. However I didn't expect I get D2 new with exclusive content for only $11.50. Says a lot about this game and why my expectations are very low as a solo player. Guess that is why I am having some fun with it. I joined a D2 clan for this time around but with my available gaming time (weekends only), I will liking be behind most clan members to play the end game content. When I no longer enjoy this game will move on to RDR2. I'll wait for reviews and see how the forums are when the Taken King type replacement comes out in the fall before deciding if I buy it. My thought though is I will likely wait for a price drop if I do buy.

I'm having plenty of fun as a solo player of other games.

As a solo hunter at 357 with no mic I have little to nothing to do

As a solo player it is annoying they have changed the leveling up. People say this is a co-op game... that's an unfair statement to make. It has story, it has lore that shouldn't be exclusive to people who have friends or actively use LFG, trials being co-op is fair and even the raid and nightful. Taking longer to level up isn't so bad but doing it in a way that it would take until September to max out is horrific. At least create activities (maybe even lore based) for solo players AND groups to use to level up. P.s i understand you don't need to level up if Ur not doing those activities but still there needs to be a line drawn somewhere. There's A LOT of people who play solo and would rather play solo why alienate them?

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 5/18/2018 12:16:52 AMI can't wait until they stop wasting time and actually get this bata turned into a game worth playing. I knew Luke was the fall guy LoL... Edit: Get this, Luke said "D1 was more like a bata". If that is so, WTH does he call this thing?
The biggest issue right now I have is loot progression, and something to chase.
Bungie realizes that the new progression system isn't working for solo players, and are taking steps to improve it. Someone did the math, and----if you raid----you have up to EIGHTEEN "powerful gear" drops PER WEEK...PER CHARACTER. Whereas, if you don't....you only have access to about FIVE per character per week. I'm ALL for people who play the hardest content progressing faster, and getting more-and-better loot. But that kind of discrepancy is ridiculous....and is a recipie for pushing solo players out of the game.

Edited by AO-Big_Simpin: 5/19/2018 9:42:07 AMJust join a solo friendly clan

I can't even finish a strike anymore for f, sake made them almost unbeatable, I'm not a hardcore gamer but I used to enjoy running around shooting stuff, nightfall is easier then strikes plus no reward. Why this happening? The game is really dead for me.
-
I have fun in The Division, because I can play EVERYTHING with ingame matchmaking. Bungie devs are retards and asshats.
-
there's literally no reason to be a solo player in this game. i am a solo player and just don't play so... destiny 2 is dead to me...apparently the devs hate me. guess i know not to buy any more expansions for the game
-
Week 2 and I am still at 346 even after the milestones. If i cannot level up then what is the point in playing the game. They also have one raid which i tried once and hated so raid lairs of a hated raid adds to the hate towards more of the same. Stop the lairs and create a new raid and let players level up.

Never get a chance to do Escalation Protocol.... I see videos of people getting a team of 9 but its literally impossible for me to do. Bungie are a bunch of idiots to make this Protocol event not allow matchmaking or the ability to bring ina bigger team. And now I understand why everyone says -blam!- You Bungie all the time. This -blam!-ing SUCKS!
-
Easy Join a clan and even if you run Solo your bound to get rewards from the Milestones/Clan Rewards. =)

Just play something else this game is bad... even with a group it feels empty. Bungie got over confident and greedy. A terrible combo for anyone.

There is just this big chasm that I feel when I play and it isn’t just for solo play either. It’s the immersion that is broken overall. All the systems are only half intuitive now. They have a ways to go still. . On a personal level I feel the weapon slots hurt the game a lot. It is taxing psychologically. It’s not that I cannot play the game with the slots the way they are currently, it’s just that I lose the desire to because everything feels so tediously slow. My skill as a player doesn’t matter on an individual level at all. Time is blatantly thrown in my face; when playing in D1 I would lose time frequently. That’s a big chasm. Don’t get me wrong, I do think some things are improving while others still need attention.
-
Escalation Protocol stopped me from getting Sleeper Simulator (much less getting the weapons tied to Escalation). :/ I kept seeing 2-3 players besides me in the same area, but they have no desire to do it. I'm a solo and a deaf player. Bungie still relied on the communications via mics, which prevented me from wanting to do the Raids. Anything else are fine with soloing. No comments on Nightfall as I hasn't done it since early part of Season Two (I think).

No im having a blast
-
Solo has nothing to do with it Bungie is just dead set against fun in general.
-
When they throttled the progression system, it really cut out a lot of solo play. Thing is, how things were wouldn’t help either. Once I hit max power, I have nothing to play for. I don’t have anything to play for now either. I hate beating the dead horse, but RNG was what kept me playing D1 as much as I did. It made me do everything because I could always find something that could theoretically improve my dude.
-
I do agree that there needs to be better opportunity for you to solo(or matchmake) run some activities to improve power level. Locking the best power level up behind trials and raid can be a problem for the guy that might have a life outside the game. If I can't work to improve my power level outside the raid I will never get invited to run a raid when I go to LFG.
-
I understand its annoying but in reality you know it was never suppose to be a solo game in the first place.
