Anyone else not having as much fun as a single player? I feel like I used to be able to hop in and feel like I accomplished something each time I logged in, but now its feels like im wasting my time. Havent had much luck or motivation to do the raids. I only play solo cause the 10 people or so I could rely on, to play with, gave up on the game. Its probably just me, but was just curious. I really wish they had match making for the content.
EDIT 5-17
Amazed at the responses guys! I just wanted to clarify that yes, I understand that I could use LFG or play a different game (which I do) its just that this game isnt as friendly towards the solo player. I used to have 2 groups of people to play with but they all became jilted by the game and quit. Im essentially the last guy holding out for this game still. Haha. The biggest issue right now I have is loot progression, and something to chase. Like a grasp of malok with the perfect role! LOVE heroic strikes feeling Heroic. I just wish there was a carrot to chase there like in D1. Thanks again for all the responses.

Normally play with my 1 active clan mate left, once milestones are done basically aimed at raids and trials to get levels. EP is a time effort to sort out, exotics not powerful light gains anymore so destiny is over for me each week before Thursday lol. Never cleared a prestige raid if a clan out there cares for a wounded animal like myself 😞

The DLC has only been out for one week. The people that play this game hardcore have already hit 385.
-
It's not so much that I'm having less fun as I just feel less motivated to do anything. Heroic strikes and event rotations were my go to time killers, I wasn't making a ton of progress but I was seeing a few points here and there throughout the week. Unfortunately raids are the only source of real progression now and while I enjoy them I'm lucky to run leviathan once every other month. I know the go to response is play something else if you're not having fun... but isn't that the exact problem D2 has had since the beginning? Did removing my primary sources of light level progression improve the game for someone? The focus should have been on improving social interactions before making any changes to the solo player experience. The fact players need to alt+tab out of the game to find a group for something should have been a glaringly obvious problem for the game.

Until this update I would agree but there is definitely more stuff to chase for the average solo player. Activities are a little more challenging as well. You really have to hold your own in strikes now or they just don’t get done. Once everyone hits higher levels it will probably just go back to the one dick who stays at the start though. The sleeper nodes and memory things were fun to hunt down as well. Takes me back to my ghost hunting days of D1.
-
I am actually having fun when playing solo. My only criticism so far, is the loot should match the challenge. But I like stuff being tough to complete.
-
Maybe try using recruitment forums
-
It wasn't too bad in most of D1's activities (except for raids and trials of course). But in D2 especially crucible, it feels cumbersome. Soloing this game isn't the worst depending on who you are... I still have some fun going lone wolf.
-
I cab still have fun, but it is a chore at times...

I played D1 and D2 on console with a solid crew and got everything done up until CoO, i then switched over to PC. I’ve been playing solo ever since and it’s been enjoyable for the most part. Only until I try and raid, do nightfall’s, trials, anything that requires a team I have missed out on . I’m tempted to just go back to console, it’s just so much easier to play destiny with friends. You can actually play destiny in it’s entirety instead of missing half of the end game activities.

Spend your money elsewhere. No solo content, no september dlc purchase

Edited by FrenetiCreature: 5/17/2018 5:47:54 PMI really only play Quickplay and IB, so LL doesn't affect me. All of the new missions and quests that come with every new DLC are just slight annoyances to me, that I have to hurry up and complete, to remove all of the indicators from my screen. But at least I usually get a few new weapons along the way, to try out in the crucible. If IB was affected by LL, then I'd worry about it, but it doesn't. So...

Chewbacca is more than willing to help Solo in almost any situation...ha ha see what I did there :) Running solo does have it's challenges. I had a good group in D1 that I could usually hang with for VoG, Crota, Nightfalls, or just need help with something. Most, if not all, of that group is gone. At the end of D1 when all the Raids were on rotation I attempted several LFG runs but OMG it was painful and time consuming. Finally just gave into the fact that Raid participation isn't going to happen. LFG's can be good but I think you really need to be clear about what you need help with. I stress be clear, don't be a d-bag because no one wants to play with that guy. Random's through Strikes can be really hit or miss. Was trying to get through the 5 heroic strikes for Sleeper yesterday, got through 3 of the 5 before having to stop. No one was paying attention to the modifiers, it's effing Void burn use your Void stuff please! Also, there is always someone who just wants to run ahead of everything and screw things up for others.

I’m having a blast.

Join a clan.

Edited by fuhd: 5/17/2018 5:41:38 PMI stopped having fun playing......... In, like, December! Made a new account and started d1 again. Now I'm having loads of fun as a solo player. I was kind of hoping to read positive things about Warmind. So, so glad I didn't pre-order the dlcs
-
I disagree. Im having fun. But I'll preface that by telling you i like pvp. On the pve side I've gotten to 355 and i still have loads of stuff to do as far as those sleeper nodes, memory fragments, and all the weekly stuff . Also crucible valor ranks and any forge weapons you don't already have will raise your light after you've already gotten to the soft cap. The game isn't perfect but its fun and it has me back for now

Guys I’ve been a solo player since day 1. You need to go on LFG and make friends with people to get a group going. My clans Raid team is made of people I met playing D2. You have to put yourself out there.
-
Its so utterly easy to build a network of friends to play this game with. I can't imagine why you would not do that? Do you know how boring it is to play Chess or Monopoly by yourself?
-
Edited by Calevis24: 5/17/2018 4:53:58 PMConsider this: as a mostly solo player I want to get my light up so that if I join a group or clan for a raid, I won’t be a drag or liability, but now as a solo you basically just have to wait weeks or months to do that...at which point most people want quick runs and don’t want to teach or “carry” because of low light. SO, why not do some of these long quests for guns? SURELY that will raise my light! NOPE. Sleeper drops at 345. So...a quest that takes a LONG time to complete, drops lower gear than public events I can run in five minutes? 🤔 gotta keep that time gated progression up though *sarcasm* I got the Polaris yesterday, 342...got a random Suros drop...342. Remind why I’m grinding this out again?
-
No raid, escalation protocol or coordinated pvp. Yay!
-
Nope been having a blast Want to add that I had some friends come back and made new friends: we've been playing together tons over the past week So much so a little bit of me misses the quite time lol!
-
When dropping into the Mars landing zone and kindly being asked to leave by a group trying to get all their '9' in for Escalation Protocal...... I get it, but there needs to be a better way for groups to get an EP going as it's turning into a formed group event ala a raid.

You would think as a self proclaimed action shooter they would focus on direct gameplay and mission design to serve as a reason for people to continually play. Instead they make you keep playing for numbers, and to do that you have to keep playing bland content. It's a shame too, because if they actually bothered to craft fun missions with things in the sandbox like they did with halo and say the scarab fights they would have people coming back constantly. Instead you come back for bullet sponges and territory control or you fail mechanics.
-
I play mostly solo and am still having fun. Then again, I really enjoy patrol. I play Destiny primarily as a shooter. Then opening chests or drops from lost sectors or public events are rewards. And I am happy to get them.

D2 is meant for clans now

I hear you,but I'm having fun. I'm kind of in the limbo point of level advancement. I'm at 350. Not high enough or good enough to do heroic strikes yet - there's no point anyways with the glitch and current loot drops. I've never even seen 5 other members of my clan on at once so I'll likely never do the raid. Not high enough for escalation protocol. I've got Peppermint Patty's scout rifle but it's kind of meh. I only equip it to boost my light level. I change my load out for our local events. I'm cruising around looking for data caches etc in pursuit of the sparrow. I do public events to maybe get another exotic masterwork core to drop so I can grind for that. I do the daily challenges from planet to planet. It will take a while to level up since everything is dropping at 340, but there's stuff to do here and there. I also help out other guardians with missions, etc when I'm asked. It's just a gameplay shift - good or bad, I dunno, but we have to adjust to it.
