Anyone else not having as much fun as a single player? I feel like I used to be able to hop in and feel like I accomplished something each time I logged in, but now its feels like im wasting my time. Havent had much luck or motivation to do the raids. I only play solo cause the 10 people or so I could rely on, to play with, gave up on the game. Its probably just me, but was just curious. I really wish they had match making for the content.
EDIT 5-17
Amazed at the responses guys! I just wanted to clarify that yes, I understand that I could use LFG or play a different game (which I do) its just that this game isnt as friendly towards the solo player. I used to have 2 groups of people to play with but they all became jilted by the game and quit. Im essentially the last guy holding out for this game still. Haha. The biggest issue right now I have is loot progression, and something to chase. Like a grasp of malok with the perfect role! LOVE heroic strikes feeling Heroic. I just wish there was a carrot to chase there like in D1. Thanks again for all the responses.

You are not the only one
-
You're not the only one in this position. The best activities do indeed require a firearm, and my clan abandoned ship as well. If they don't return for Warmind, I'm going to ditch them.
-
As everyone seems to agree optional matchmaking makes so much sense. Can’t imagine one downside.
-
oh it sucks, especially on pc, to quote a great man: INFINITE POWER!!! itty bitty community....
-
Omfg. Use LFG!! Stop complaining that a cooperative game requires fireteams. It takes <5mins right now to find a group for anything.
-
Find another game to play. A game that you enjoy.

Edited by dilligaf941023: 5/17/2018 2:54:40 PMI have a couple of friends I do things with, but a lot of the time I'm alone and I feel your pain. I see on a facebook destiny group that people who raid and do nightfalls on a regular basis are starting to hit the hard cap. I'm 352 and predict I'll be able to reach the cap by mid summer but what about those who only have a few hours a week to play?
-
I don't think I would have anymore fun going with a team. The game is mediocre playing solo or playing in a group. It makes no difference as far as fun goes. You will have more success with a team, but all that means is a few more tokens and blue gear than the solo guys. Zzzzzzzzz...... LOL.

I know what you mean, but for now I've collected all the 'shoot to collect' data points. Have 25/40 sleeper nodes. Got Ana's scout rifle on one character, doing the heroic on my second later for another. I've also got 4/5 of the Arctic weapons, so playing away to get the final one. The Crimson catalyst dropped so I have that to unlock, same for my other 4 catalysts (Darci, Worldline Zero, Vigilance Wing and Jade Rabbit) although they're going to be more difficult for me. I haven't been near a strike (I'll need to do some for sleeper sometime) , nightfall or raid but have plenty to do for now. My power level is rising very slowly (highest is 353) but I'm not really bothered by that. Once I'm done I can solo it all again on XB1, lol.

Having more fun solo now than before!
-
I'm a solo player and am having a blast, don't really see what the problem is.

Edited by Bush's Baked Beans: 5/17/2018 2:11:05 PMIt's meh. I never played curse of Osiris and I got the season pass for my birthday, so I'm effectively playing both dlcs at the same time. I can say I'm for sure having much more fun now than I did when I quit back in December. For me, the weapon forge grind is keeping me coming back and the pvp leveling is tons of fun. It does get frustrating to see my ranking go down whenever I go against a stacked team or a teammate leaves but pvp is still overall enjoyable to me. I'm having fun with the infinite forest too with the heric adventures on Murcury, I actually enjoy running the gauntlet. I do feel kinda underpowered though. I haven't touched heroic strikes or escalation protocol. I'm waiting for some more power before I do so, but overall the pvp grind is what's really keeping me back. I feel it's improved so much and I actually feel like my skill matters. I don't feel like I'm getting teamshot and I'm able to outplay teams now with faster movement. #9mobilityftw

I wish they had optional matchmaking, as well, but I see a bunch more of my friends on, lately, and I'm still having fun hopping on and completing tasks. All of my characters are still sub 350, though, so that may have something to do with it. I'm still chasing the ability to participate in some of the higher level stuff.

Basically, yes. I just don't have the time now to dedicate 3 hours to getting a Raid party together at the same time and then have to quit out early or have somebody else quit out before we get anywhere. I'm a guy in his 30s with a life. And less free time than I used to have. So I mostly solo play. Right now I have plenty to do as I only really just started Warmind. But once I've ground out whatever isn't struck behind a Raid or requires a full fireteam I'll probably be back to feeling a lack of motivation to log in. That was never the case with original Destiny. Even with day to day activities things like random rolls on weapons and armour, and having to unlock perk slots gave me an impetus to do things. Strike specific loot gave me a reason to grind that. Daily bounties gave me something to do on the fly all the time.

I must be an outlier as I am having fun as a mostly solo player Grinded out both Sleeper Simulant and Nacent Dawn quest mostly solo. Picked up 41 of the 45 Data Fragments all solo without a youtube guide Currently, grinding stems for Winter Wolf and jumping into any Escalation Protocol when it occurs Still have my Heroic Strike Milestone to complete this weekend Will be doing the other destination for tokens for turn in so I can get more masterwork cores But that's just me. I'm not racing to max light level cause I'll eventually get there
-
I'm just not playing. I finished the campaign, played a handful of PvP matches, and now I know it's more fun not to play. Until we have special weapons back in place, I don't care to play this game anymore. There is nothing more boring than shooting bullet sponges with two primary weapons that are significantly weaker than D1 primaries.
-
Your friends had the right idea, this game sucks, you should try playing what ever your friends are playing.
-
back when i played this crap, i didnt even have fun in a group.
-
Because this isn't a single player game. Just saying
-
It’s definitely not just you I’ve been here since day one and I’m quitting. Way too many Great single player games out there, they’ve basically told us they don’t want us in their game and so have the try Hards out there, so it’s time to go!

Look for an LFG discord

Edited by ThamJam: 5/17/2018 9:04:31 AMNo you haven't accomplished anything before. You used to do public events and get free loot from the clan thats why you were high light. It has been mentioned again and again this is not a game designed for solo play and you need a fireteam to finish end game. You are frustrated because it actually takes work and communicating with others now to get higher light. Also, matchmaking was proved to be a bad idea in this DLC. Heroic strikes proved that the system will not work for end game as anyone will join and rage quit easy because the content is too hard. At this point you have two solutions, either work on your social anxiety, or drop the game completely and play games that cater to your anti-social needs. Edit: I apologize If anyone finds this harsh. But still remains the fact of Destiny today.
-
Yup. Used to log in almost daily. I was excited for the new expansion until I started seeing all the ways they were going to dump on solo players. Heroic Strikes are almost unplayable with most modifiers at my level. Little to no chance to progress for another few weeks. Newest event is worse than the Heroic state. I spend most of my time fast traveling between sites hoping for more than 3 people. Rare. When there are enough people most are low enough that we get wrecked in level 1. I have little to no drive to even bother with my 3rd Character yet. Back to sporadic play I guess.

Get new friends then, tower, LFG, during activities.... this is a co op game
-
Try playing competence on your own . You’ll uninstall the game
-
so much for that friendship what bungie bragged about........ they even failed to provide that.
