Yep you are pretty stuffed unless you decide to play 60 - 90 quickplay matches to get the 4 high level engrams from maxing the valour rank. The raid gives you 4 for calus and a further 2 for eater (I'm ignoring the new raid layer as it's tedious as f$%k). You will also need to go flawless in Trials as another engram is hidden behind that toxic mess. I wonder if Bungie have realised that this is why most people are gone i.e. the majority of people, whether in clans or not, were playing largely solo.

  • I know how you feel there. Apparently matchmaking is supposed to give tens full of random players an edge against fireteams and it's worked against me when I'm the fireteams but now I'm playing solo and am getting only randoms that play control as TDM. How is their skill level and mine supposed to be higher than that of a fireteams of 3 who play the objective? Is my skill that much higher than my team, really? The only one trying (and getting destroyed doing so) to play the objective?

  • It may well be oddly. I have had the same thing, where I've had to exclusively play objective, getting less kills as a result while my teammates steal my crests and fail to capture in control. Look at the matches I played yesterday on my titan (trying to level him as he's been idle since vanilla). I consistently have the highest efficiency on the team but, am forced to defend zones and kill enemies/save team mates who are just running in like cannon fodder. After 5 matches like this (5 win streak) I am now convinced the algorithm is doing a skill total tally for each team so my teams average is being based on me and maybe one other in the team. Looking at some of the 0.xx efficiencies on my teams it's getting rather stupid. I think the only time I got less than 1.0 was when I was dropped into a match near the end and it was clear that the person who had left was just ending up getting three manned while the rest of the team hid (exactly what happened to me!).
