My clan has 6 pages of members. There are usually less than 6 people playing this game. I enjoy playing solo and I enjoy co-op activities. The problem is I’m one of the last hold outs. I can get a few clan mates together to do a few things but usually they’re just running milestones and signing off for the week. The problem is Bungie is all one direction or all another direction with no middle ground. Getting the soft cap is easy. The hard cap is a long way off and there are no mid-point activities. Heroic strikes should fill the gap but the reward drops makes them useless except for the three weekly for milestone. Exotic engrams used to come out at your light level no matter where they came from but now they’re cursed by being lower than your current power level making them useless. So to level up you have to do all milestones on one character following up with raid and raid layer then back to prestige raid and raid layer on one character. Then pass gear up (but only if it’s a weapon because you can’t infuse armor across classes) to anothe character and rinse and repeat until you get this all done on your main. Essentially, if you want to get to end game content in the first 2 months you have to play Destiny like it’s your job. In D1 the strike specific loot from the chests could improve your light up to max and you could infuse across classes. If you needed higher level arms on your warlock. That’s fine. Play heroic shield brothers until the Titan arms dropped and infuse them with you warlock. Need a helmet? Play sunless cell or the giant shank. There were middle activities that allowed you to progress. Here there’s not. And if you want to reach max power you better be lucky enough to not get legs and class items for every milestone.

  • My clan has 71 people. before the DLC maybe three people on max at a time. After the DLC maybe 6 people max (Bungie counts that as 100% improvement in player base) last week. Right now - zero. As for levelling up, there is no middle ground with these guys, you are correct. Yes it was too easy before. That was more a reflection on the content than the rewards. Now the rewards are pretty bad for most things. You're forced to raid or trials. If XB achievements are any measure, raiders/trials players are less than 20% of the player base. The raid is not that fun. I agree, if you want to make D2 a job you can level up fairly quick (although I wonder what those already near max will do once they hit it). But other than weekly milestones there just doesn't seem to be much reason to hop on too often. I'm trying to find lost memories - not using any guide. Sure it's killing time. I got my sword. But it's not exactly that "alien killing" content I prefer. Same with the music boxes (especially considering how many repeats I'm getting) so I can fill in an emblem? Meaningful content there I tell ya. I had well over 500 hrs on XB1, with a few raids. I switched to PC and have nearly 200 hrs on that platform (only one raid, just wanted to see it on PC). I have enjoyed the game. I am not complaining about value either. More than enough hours for the money I've spent. (I never spent a cent on eververse, and I never will.) But I just can't see myself coming back until September each week, If I do it'll be the non-raid milestones then done. I certainly won't be purchasing the Sept update until a few weeks have gone by and I can read the tea leaves about how people feel first.

  • They need to have matchmaking with the regular NF. That way, people could get that drop too.

  • Got to LFG.net. I’ve used it since D1 and only had bad teams about once in every 10 or 12 tries with it. That’s an easy fix. I can do raids thorough there too. My point wa there is no middle ground for steady progression between the soft and hard caps. A few activities each week help. To really level up you need to manage how you do 3 characters. It takes as much time as a full time job to effectively use all the activities to increase power.
