Star Wars Story: Bossk's Revenge, Part 3

The bounty hunters (and dead droid) approached the planet Dandoran. Gladlin brought his ship into the atmosphere and approached the rebel base that was hidden in the deep woodlands of Dandoran. Bossk thoroughly hated being in the rebel's midst. When Gladlin landed the ship, the first thing Bossk did was point his Relby V-10 straight at Gladlin. "I know your plan," Bossk said. "You thought you could fool me by bringing the rebel's crates and weapon caches onboard. You planned to capture me so you could turn me over to the Rebellion!" "What? No! That's not true," Gladlin argued. "The Rebellion needs your help with something I do not know. I was sent to simply get you." Bossk growled. "If you're not right, I'll shoot you first." The two of them exited the ship, and found a squad of rebels waiting for them. The base's operative, General Hondu, greeted Bossk and Gladlin. "Thank the force you made it back." Bossk tightened his grip on his gun. The General saw it and only said: "Bossk, we are not trying to capture you. Only to hire you." "Hire me?" Bossk was confused. "Yes," replied the general. "Our bothan spies have made us aware of an Imperial facility on planet Sullust that is producing automated turrets and blaster cannons. They plan to mass produce these turrets and deploy them on every single last world they own. We will pay an excellent amount if you could successfully destroy the blueprints and all traces of the autoturret plans." "Rebels don't hire Bounty Hunters," Bossk hissed. "Desperate times, I'm afraid," General Hondu said. "How much is an 'excellent amount'?" Bossk asked. "75,000 credits. As a special bonus..." General Hondu gave a signal, and the hangar to his left opened. Bossk turned and saw in it, his ship, the Hound's Tooth. "MY SHIP!!!" Bossk screamed. "How?" "You can thank Gladlin," the general said. "He outsmarted those smugglers who took your ship." "All's fine, not a scratch," Gladlin smiled. A rebel soldier approached the general and whispered something to him. "I'm afraid our time here is short. We are needed for a battle over the forest moon of Endor." The general spoke to his men, and soon the base was bustling. Gladlin and Bossk went into the hangar where the Hound's Tooth waited for them. "SIRS!!!" exclaimed a droid loudly. Gladlin turned. Bossk examined his ship. The droid hurried over to Gladlin. "General Hondu requested I help you and Bossk on this mission." Gladlin groaned. "Anyone but you," he muttered. The droid frowned. "I heard that!" "Look, CEL-3, we're fine. No help needed." CEL-3, or more simply, Cell, yelled to Bossk; "I noticed the pollen canisters are empty, and your scout ship The Pup needs refueling!" Bossk walked over. "Well then, do something about it!" "See?" Cell said. "Without me, you'd have failed!" Gladlin shook his head and sighed. "Fine." Once the ship was prepped and ready, Bossk, Gladlin, and CEL-3 climbed aboard. Bossk sat down in the pilot's seat and sighed in relief. "I'm back big girl! Now let's Hunt!" Gladlin sat in the co-pilot's seat while Cell stood behind them, oohing and aahing. "Where's all the controls?" Cell asked. Gladlin wondered the same. Bossk called out: "Hound, fire up the engines." The engines hummed to life. Gladlin was jealous of the Hound's Tooth. Soon the Bounty Hunters and droid were on their way to Sullust. (Continued in part 4) Click tag for previous posts.
