(Click tag for previous posts) The Imperial Star Destroyer fired its ion cannons at the small freighter trying to jump to light speed. Another squadron of TIE fighters zoomed towards them. Gladlin executed a daring maneuver that shook off the Imperials, but broke the hyperdrive calculation process. The freighter rocked as a TIE fighter's ion weaponry blasted the rear. "How long does it take to make the jump to light speed?" Bossk exclaimed. "Too long!" Gladlin growled. "IR-47, fire weapons at the TIE fighter and activate full rear shields!" "You have to do that [i]manually?[/i]" Bossk was shocked. "Uh, yeah!" Gladlin said. [i]I miss the Hound's Tooth,[/i] Bossk thought. [i]Intelligent AI system, automatic weapons and security systems...[/i] "Got one!" IR-47 shouted triumphantly as a TIE fighter exploded into a ball of fire. But immediately thereafter, the bridge of the ship was badly hit and the console next to the droid exploded, killing IR-47 permanently. "IR!" Gladlin shouted. Just then, all the shooting stopped and an Imperial transmission was beamed to the freighter. It was Officer Liam. "Bounty Hunters, I offer you one last chance to surrender. If you refuse you will be destroyed. You have thirty seconds to consider." Bossk leaped into action, shoving the poor droid out of his seat. He frantically raced to calculate the jump to light speed. "We know your plans, Bossk," Officer Liam scowled. "You will never calculate it in time." Bossk shut off all power to shields and weapons, then adjusted the ship one degree to the left, and a half degree down. "What...?" Gladlin said. Bossk smirked. [i]Hear me roar, Scorekeeper.[/i] In an instant, the ship was gone. Officer Liam was speechless. (He was aboard his Star Destroyer [i]Retribution[/i]). Not one of his captains dared approached him. They knew what was coming for them. "Um, Sir?" said a shaky voice over the Star Destroyer's communications line. "Lord Vader demands we meet with him at once." Officer Liam gripped the window ledge angrily and vowed to kill The Trandoshan Bossk if it was the last thing he did. Meanwhile, Bossk and Gladlin were feeling quite proud of themselves for escaping Lunus II. "How'd you know we'd be safe jumping like that?" Gladlin asked. Bossk grinned. "My secret." Gladlin frowned. "Where is the ship going?" Bossk sat back. "To your rebel base on Takodana." Gladlin jumped up. "How did...?!" "Easy," Bossk said. "I saw weapons and crates used by the rebellion in your ship when I entered. This TX-440 freighter was designed by Incom, the company that deals exclusively to the rebellion at this time. They designed the ship you call an X-Wing." "What if I'm a rogue?" Bossk pointed to the note stuck to the ship's main console. [i]"Reminder, report to Commander Akbar."[/i] Gladlin sat down again, stumped. "We will be arriving shortly," Bossk said. Gladlin eyed the Trandoshan. He could tell for the look on his face he was planning something. He had to find out. Officer Liam stood straight. The rest of his crew worked on their tasks fearful of what was about to happen. The blast doors to the Bridge opened, and there stood the dark lord of the Sith. Darth Vader. Officer Liam tried not to tremble before the menacing Dark Lord. "Lord Vader." Darth Vader glanced around. "Officer Liam, I understand you have failed to capture The Trandoshan bounty hunter?" "We will find him, Lord Vader. He is..." "Too many times have my men said such things, and failed!" Darth Vader exclaimed. He whipped out his lightsaber and force choked a man, one of Officer Liam's soldiers. He threw his lightsaber and killed more of the crew, until none besides Officer Liam remained. "You are fortunate I find you able enough to find the Trandoshan," Vader said. "Unlike your crew. If you fail me again, I will not hesitate to kill you." Darth Vader whipped around and stormed out. Officer Liam breathed a gigantic sigh of relief. [i]I will get you, Bossk![/i] Officer Liam clenched his fists.
