Ive seen so many people asking for free handouts or that forsaken should be a free gift to apologize to players. Heres my 2 cents. [spoiler]let the hate mail and crucifiction begin[/spoiler] I dont agree Destiny 2 Forsaken should be free at all. I know devs need money for work they do but destiny should instead be a sub based game (where monthly sub give all dlc since it a steady income per player). You see it with games like ESO, WoW, and SWTOR all the time. But then again if bungie moved to a sub system i dont think they could support themselves due to the fact that with sub games there is much much much more content and replayablity overall versus destiny 2 has none of what could keep most players paying $15-$20 a month to keep playing. Yes people will crucify me for mentioning a sub based system for destiny but its an option that could essentailly do away with the paid dlc expectation. Plus look at it from a monetary standpoint. If the casual player pays 60 for base destiny 2 and 40 for season pass that 100 in a year. Or 80 if they do full version of forsaken. If they paid 15 a month for a year it would come out to 180 dollars a player. 20 a month for a uear would be 240 a player. And thats only 1 year. Which is much more money then the average player currently pays even with adding mtx into account (eververse). If they had that extra money coming in maybe theyd be more inclined to make new content instead of sayong content is too hard. It would also get rid of the hatred towards dlc for most part that TDB, HoW, CoO, Warmind suffered from. Also if they added a bonus to being subbed (maybe 5 - 10 dollars worth of silver each month) it could incentivise people to be subbed. That is something SWTOR and ESO both do for subscribers. Now i know alot of people cant do subscriptions so if they had a dlc system still in the game as a fallback for people whod rather do the dlc that would be great too. (Something ESO has) Tl;dr - It more profitable to do a $15-$20 a month sub for all dlc then it is for the dlc/season pass plan. [spoiler]so lets see just how many people agree or disagree.
