Edited by bdonnyq: 7/12/2018 6:34:32 AMAntifa, the SJW's, the LGBTQ movement.... all use hate tactics to get their point across. Every one of these leftist groups create division and censorship. Similar to how Hitler started to rise to power, yet they call others 'Nawtsee's'.

Edited by BossCharacter: 7/13/2018 2:12:37 AMIs it weird that I have more of an issue of someone needing to over explain their point when questioned rather than just let their statement stand? It’s almost like someone is trying to convince themselves of their own point........ Just a thought.

So, by the explanation in "edit2", your problem is not "diversity" it's a problem with storytelling. If that is truly the case, why comment about orientation at all? Just say the Destiny storytelling is sub-par. No one would have disagreed, no hubub. Methinks the answer to that queston is that you are deliberately stir the pot.

I don't think people get the point. The point isn't gay = bad, it's that forcing diversity ruins narratives. If a writer is forced to make a gay, black etc character they will, 9/10 times come off as terrible characters because the writer doesn't know how/doesn't want to mqke said character, and in that situation the character tends to become a mess of stereotypes rather then just gay, black etc. The comic is a different type of problem IMO. The problem there wasn't she was gay, but rather the writer forced a romance into the book, took away achievements from Ana to give to said forced romantic char and overall wasted the majority of the comic trying to make us care for this otherwise unheard-of character. Although you could probably make the argument the writers merely did that for the sake of a gay character, and in today's industry I probably wouldn't be surprised, but I don't believe that was the reason. Why? Because I fine it rather coincidental the lead writer for d2 was a former "young adult" novel writer...

If we were talking about Star Wars I'd probably agree. Destiny? Meh I haven't really felt like anything has been forced on me.
-
As a straight white male I am all for other men being gay. Not only do they leave more available women for me .. they also partner up with one of the competition.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha you care way too much dude. you deride the crowds who "want to force diversity" on the story, and then you try to force your version of how the story should be written on the game. you claim that games are not played for immersion, and then complain that the forced diversity takes you out of the game. people are climbing over every nook and cranny in this game for extra lore and history, and the story provides back story and nuance for a character and youve got a problem with it? maybe it wasnt written up to your snuff. the fact that it was written in this direction, is a step in the right direction. your point of view isnt the only point of view, and in fact, your point of view probably scares people who may want to be involved in this shared universe away. you dont get to tell people how they should feel about the writing in this story, because this story may be the inspiration for the next generation to write an even better one. do something more productive

Edited by Apollyon: 7/12/2018 11:23:39 PMAmen! I get your point and your not being irrational either. But your gonna be blown up by any person who’s a liberal.... they’re all so incompetent. If you say anything you don’t like they’ll blow you up.
Advice: if you see one post stuff on here against u just say “ur right” lol they ain’t smart enough to get your point anyway
Why do you care?
-
...but It's not forced
-
Good to see there are at least some decent people on these forums and it's not just full of bigots
-
Forced how? What do you mean by forced? That means you are being held against your will to do something. Simply putting lesbian or gay characters into a video game isn’t “forcing” jackshit. What it DOES do is expose fragile little idiots, like yourself, who can’t comprehend that societies change.

There are so many people here missing the point. This thread is hilarious.

true...it seems so cringy. then again everything about destiny 2 screams forced diversity, political correctness, and cringe...and hand holding
-
It’s bungo... hardcore libs... did you see their twitters when Hillary lost ? It Was like watching 13 year old girls who’s puppy just died... Sawft

Edited by SquidGuy: 7/12/2018 12:50:29 PMI didn't realize she was lgbt-whatever. Was that in the story?
-
1. Who the hell cares about the characters in this game when they have no development or story. Just a voice we hear occasionally. 2. I couldn’t take that video seriously at all with that stupid furry cringe character in my face. 3. Go find better things to complain about in Destiny 2. There are plenty.
The Problem With FORCED Diversity.
Why can't games be like real life where every one is a straight white male like OP. I often ask my wife why she isn't a straight white male. She says something about child birth or something. I wasn't really paying attention.

Eww. People who whine this much really need to get out more, this is honestly just sad at this point.
