It is forced in our current society.

The world is bigger than you.

Diversity is forced. 10 years ago we treated everyone the same. Nobody cared if you were gay, trans, etc. Now we're expected to treat people of certain demographics like they're superheroes, and you're called a bigot if you don't include every demographic in your game, comic, etc. These same people have no problem treating white people like shit, and blaming them for everything.
-
Edited by Aqua: 7/12/2018 12:46:58 PMNope Diversity is a norm.
-
We've always had diversity. Nobody forced it until recently. Nowadays diversity means no white people.
-
So you’re telling me the female ghostbusters wasn’t forced?
-
The original was all guys.
-
But it was naturally all guys. The SOLE purpose of the new one was because they did it with girls. It’s forced. And not needed.
-
The sole purpose of the movie is in the name. You just have a problem with an all girls cast.
-
Edited by Bront: 7/12/2018 3:33:01 AMWhy do it again though? They already made 3 back in the 80’s, why make another now? Like I said before the purpose of movie is because they had an all woman led cast. Same thing with the new oceans 8 movie. It’s forced. And that fact you’re saying that it isn’t is erroneous. There is nothing wrong with diversity, but it needs to feel natural and purposeful to the thing they are trying to make. Or at least not make it feel forced. Take devrim for example. He’s gay and it’s not some big, blown up thing. But you still know about it. With the example of the female ghostbusters, there was no reason to make the movie, other than the fact that it was female leads instead of males and they brought it up constantly during the movie that they were females and they don’t need the horrid man. A good example of a female lead is in Westworld with Dolores. Dolores is a badass and being female and the stuff she’s been through fundamentally influences her decisions. The Westworld story REQUIRES her to be a girl. It literally couldn’t be any other way. It not only influences her character arc but the character arc of many different characters. And she’s a badass. But Dolores doesn’t go around saying I’m a badass. We just know it. It’s natural. A character being female is complete fine, but them constantly bringing up she’s a girl and she has girlpower and stuff like that isn’t a good way to build up likability and character development. They don’t need to say that to come off as a badass or smart or anything like that. Based on how well there character is written, we should know that anyway.

1) To make money. duh

Edited by Bront: 7/12/2018 1:02:39 PMI love that you avoided all my other points so thank you for that. And it flopped at the box office. The point isn’t about ghostbusters, it’s about everything else I said. It was a terrible movie though. Which , like I said, was made because it was a FEMALE remake. They even call it an all female remake.

No, I got bored after the first sentence. That includes the new response you just made.
-
Which is the problem with your generation. Not reading all the info.
-
It ain't complex. Learn to criticize movies, games, etc.... by the quality of their content.
-
Diversity should just happen no need to go out of your way for it Non issue, we all live on same planet, time to get over ourselves and all the petty bs
-
What he's trying to say is that some creators do go out of their way to implement it and that shouldn't happen, like you said it should come naturally
