It’s okay to have LGBTQ+ characters, as long as the thing you remember most about them isn’t “They’re gay.”. They need to have development beyond that point.
This is what you chose to remember. I remembered that she was a poorly developed stereotype of the classic renegade seeking to connect with her past. It was boring and poorly written. But the kiss stood out to you because you felt threatened by it. You felt someone was trying to force you to accept her.
You're either a bigot or a severely uneducated individual. I have assumed the former based on your other posts. If you are the latter then I owe you an apology and, perhaps more important, you owe yourself some education.

Yep, he is a bigot. As a gay you should be proud . Good job.
Yep, he is a bigot. As a gay you should be proud . Good job.
Funny, because I am about as old-fashioned boring straight white male as you get. But I'd rather be gay than you any day.

You reckon? What stood out to me was that several pages were wasted an taking away Anas achievements, as apparently someone else did them, as well as attempting to develop a char just so there was a love interest. I likely would be the same if she were straight. The fact she is gay isn't intrinsically bad, it's the way the writer go about it, the fact she is gay as if for the sake of being gay, and the fact odds are this wouldn't have been the case if she were straight. Them all being gay effects the narrative btw. This is why humanity hasn't grown!!!! (Obvious joke is hopefully obvious)

What's "for the sake of them being gay" Is the only reason they're gay because of some hidden agenda?
-
Maybe, though I don't know so I'm not going to sit here and say EVIL AGENDAS. But to be honest I was more talking about having her gay to say "hey! We have so many of the gays!" (Wording was intentional). Again, the fact the lead writer was a "young adult" novel writer is likely the reason there is a relationship, it just stops seeming like a coincidence when apparently everyone and the chicken is gay (I will admit I didn't think of that joke, I saw someone else mocking OP about cayde and the chicken). If you can't tell I am trying to be careful here. The topic seems to be really sensitive, and honestly I don't believe the writers have been intentionally writing everyone as (as some would call it) "diverse" (aka non white, straight and/or male) for the sake of some agenda. Odds are the writers on the team are just more comfortable writing these types of chars (ironically why I hate forced diversity, forces writers to write chars they mightn't be comfortable with, which turns chars into a cesspool or stereotypes).
