*yawn* Some people are presenting a fair critique in a poor manner, some are using it to veil their insecurities. Just a question though - if it'd been a straight romance in the comics, would their sexuality have been mentioned as much?

 • If a comic about Zavala came out and was just as focused about his romantic relationship with some one off lady character from the City as Ana's was, I'd probobly be equally unsatisfied and annoyed that Bungie just tried to pawn off a romance story on me in a Sci-Fi action fps. Don't get me wrong, characters can have sexuality, but for the love of god do not make it the focal point of a storyline. This is Destiny not Twilight

 • I play on Xbox, sooooo....? Maybe? I don't know all the dialogue. Is that the one where Amanda Holiday gets flirty with Zavala and Devram? If so then yes. It pretty much contradicts the confident handywoman character that survived out in the wilds since she was a kid that Bungie has been presenting Holiday as.

 • Well then you are one of the rare few who stay consistent in their hot takes. Fair enough.

 • No. Because this community was actually excited about her sexuality——“Ana Bae”——when it was assumed she was straight. It only became a problem, and only needed to justify its presence when it became clear that she’s gay. Blatant double-standard.

 • I thought it was because she's easy on the eyes, has a nice voice, somewhat Asian/Native American, cool eyes, and wore a Cape? Besides, lesbians suffer from one fatal flaw in their logic, they LOVE penetration.

 • IOW..., She her sexuality was eye candy for male enjoyment. And the moment it stopped being that, it became a problem.

 • Kids read these things. How about NOT putting sexually suggestive material in comics or otherwise.

 • I personally think that children should be able to see it so they can learn how the world is and come to accept it. Their going to eventually see it in their lives at some point. All sexualities should be treated the same IMO. So that younger generations will be comfortable with it. So conversations like these will become rare/non existant and seen as normal. It's not hurting anyone.

 • As a father of two, my kids have seen the world and have questions to which I've answers. Answers most people won't like or care, however, they're true.

 •
Kids read these things. How about NOT putting sexually suggestive material in comics or otherwise.
Wow, this is the first time I've ever heard anyone actually use "think of the children" as a reason to mot do something. Two girls kissing will not rock a childs world view.

 • It may raise a question, and the answer to that is "they love each other". Let the child make of that what they will. *shrug*

 • I think the romance part would have been criticised and had there been no same sex relationships in the game, I'm sure someone would have brought up some complaint about the under-representation of same sex relationships. But yeah I do agree the poor presentation has drawn in predictably poor responses. But then again if the presentation of the critique was more reasonable, there wouldn't be nearly as many replies here.

 • No. It's just bungie marketing, gets ppl talking about the game. Expect to see a transgender character in a AAA game somewhere soon. It's sad really, because ppl think it is about inclusion, but it is about PR and ultimately sales.
It's sad really, because ppl think it is about inclusion, but it is about PR and ultimately sales.
See, you're probably not wrong, and it wouldnt be fair on LGBTQ+ people that their representation may well boil down to snakey marketing cynicism. But instead of that being the complaint, I repeatedly see "OmG iTs BeInG sHoVeD dOwN oUr ThRoAtS" and similar comments. Statements like that are far more suggestive of an aversion to LGBTQ+ than having an issue with cynical marketing tactics.

 • That's the only thing I see wrong with it, from a cynics point of view of course. Other than that, it's all cool.

 • Destiny already had one. Oryx was a "sister" before he changed into a man.
