Well, it is pretty much being alluded to. I didn’t see it posted as ‘Bungie needs better story telling’. It is specifically about ‘diversity’ being a ‘problem’.

It's really not. OP'S point about forced diversity is valid. It's not saying the comic is shit cause Ana's gay.
-
Forced diversity. Not diversity per sé.

Edited by Havok: 7/12/2018 7:28:27 AMBut it is only ‘forced’ through your perception. They can put in whatever they like. Just say market research shows that more people want to see gay or different race characters, is that forced? Or is that giving at least some of the fan base what they want? Which is smart business? If you don’t like it, just abandon the franchise to ‘make your point’. I’m considering doing it for gameplay reasons.
-
I don't care enough about it to abandon the franchise.
-
It certainly isn’t an ‘issue’ that really needs to be discussed at all.
-
Who are you to say what should or shouldn't be discussed?
-
Someone with some common sense.
-
I beg to differ about your common sense. Someone with common sense would recognize that this exact type of post has come up numerous times in destiny 2. Perhaps there is some credence to what is being said and should at least be heard. Dismissing it like you know better shows how arrogant you are.
-
‘Oh, but I don’t have a problem with gay people, I just think this character being gay really ruined the story and pushed an agenda...’ Sure you don’t pal, sure you don’t...
-
Again, that's not at all what he said. Take the time to read it again, and maybe all the "common sense" you talked about should kick in.

‘Forced’ diversity isn’t a problem at all. If people don’t like these ‘diverse’ characters or how they are written/used, just boycott those movies/comics/franchises and move on to others. The people who it doesn’t bother at all will hang around still, it’s really not an issue. I don’t see Ana being gay used in the way it was any worse than just a ‘regular’ character being written poorly.
-
You're still missing the point.
-
But it doesn’t actually matter.
-
And you're right. I just -blam!-ing hate ignorance. But anyway, have a nice day good sir.

To be completely fair, I’ve seen LGBT people get upset about a character being gay with it having no bearing on anything. Especially when it’s stuff like “Lando is pansexual” with that having no evidence in or bearing to the story. I haven’t read the comic and don’t really care. But I think there is something to be said about forced diversity and tokenism. I think we can all agree that well written and well rounded characters are better and desirable. Regardless of whether those characters are gay, purple, or a gnat. And simply being a thing is not the same thing.
