Not that i find her lesbian relationship to be problematic, per se. It's just, i'm sick and tired of people going "hey" hey you" look! I'm LGBTQ+, please notice me" and shove it in every form of medium possible as to be as inclusive as possible. I have this weird feeling that either you include every character possible in a story, even if it doesn't make an ounce of sense (Looking at you battlefield V), or you're considered a bigot, a sexist pig or a misoginistic a-hole. Like.. Seriously, i feel like the Warmind comics focus too much on the two of them and too little on actual story that could somehow move the plot forwards, at least in my opinion. As i said before.. Her sexual orientation doesn't bother me, in fact back in D1 i think there were some homo-couple as well if you took the time to read through the whole grimoire. The problem i have with it is execution and this whole "in-your-face" attitude to be considered remotely progressive. Just my 2 cents.

  • Define “shove it in to every medium”. Usually what that translates to is “I can’t handle that society is changing”. And that you don’t want to see it to any degree. Did you see Deadpool 2? How did you feel about Negasonic and Yukio? Was that “shoved” in to the superhero movie medium?

Is not that i can't handle that society is changing, and believe me i have gay friends and they're wonderful people. It's just this attitude of "we have to make every character transgender-y as possible so that ALL the people will like our product". I see it in book, well, shite-tier book or novels which i guess nobody reads anyway. In the search for the omnipresent strong female character that turns out in the end to be a Mary Sue, forgetting, blatantly, that Ellen Ripley from the Aliens franchise is a strong female protagonist without falling into the forced equality trope. Videogames and movies too but the latter falls into the "strong indipendent women" argument, read: Star Wars: The Last Jedi, for example. It's.. however more complicated than that and i am not that great with words, they're not my forte and it's a reason why i tend to shy away from forums and discussions board. In no way i've meant to come off as a triggered person or a soyboy, i just wanted to say what i have to say without resorting to any kind of insults because that's not gonna lead us anywhere in my opinion.

  •
Usually what that translates to is “I can’t handle that society is changing”. And that you don’t want to see it to any degree.
You missed the point of the post and assume too much. There's people of diffferent orientations, have always been, will always be. But now days it seems everyone 'different' screams for recognition and equality and the overly sensitive and general ball-lessness of society today wants to try and give everyone what they want. And that ends up dragging everyone else who usually wouldnt give a damn right into the middle of it. The main point of all the bitching in this whole topic... Does it matter if ana is a lesbian? No Does it change or impact the story? No Does it offer any actual insight to the character, history, or game? No Then what the f was the point of throwing it out there except for the whole 'appease the people' motive

  • Honestly i cant stand "in your face gay people i just dont get it", I do have gay friends and you wouldn't even know they were gay unless they told you, my gay friends cant even stand the "let the whole world know people" themselves.

Only problem is with what you said about BFV. A female in a WW2 videogame is ok. It's not a history book, it's a game. Besides, if a female is included in the story as a member of a resistance (Norwegian, French, Austrian, Polish, etc.) or Russian, it wouldn't be inaccurate. As far as multiplayer goes, they have stated it has character customization. And my motto on that is the more the better. If I can make a female soldier and pretend she's from the Polish Underground State and fulfill my history nerd dreams of fighting in the Warsaw uprising in a videogame, I will. No one complained about females or blacks in wolfenstein, and that's in the 60s. And any excuse of "well if your not historically accurate in WW2, that means your downplaying the holocaust" is false. Addition of females does not, in any way, equal holocaust denial They way I see it if the game is good what he -blam!- does it matter.

  • True that, even some Russian irregulars were women during WWII at that time, but did not last long (either KIA or unit dismissed after a short period of time at the front), i can sort of buy why a female character is in the game. And you're right, it doesn't matter as long as the game is good. As far as story or character go, i want a good story and good character, who they're gonna be intimate with can be sprinkled here and there to give us a glimpse into his or her intimacy. Only thing i hate about that is the whole: hey look! I'm gay! please notice me!

  • You think this game is bad? Go play Mass Effect Andromeda. Everybody in that game was -blam!-ing gay!! Every time you turn around somebody throwing a dick in your face. Honestly just sick of it. It just isn't realistic.

  • Oh i know, it's why i didn't bother buying Andromeda in the first place, besides the fact that the game was a buggy god-forsaken mess made with an engine that tried to handle a game it wasn't made for. But it's a trend i see more and more pop up like all the these people are coming out of the woodwork just to mess around with us or to "trigger" us in their own personal way.
