Literally all guardians already have a reason to fight. To protect humanity/the last city. Most people couldn't care less that she loves a powerless human and has to protect them specifically. I want plot progression. Not 20 pages telling me how she loves someone. I really don't care if she's a woman or a man. I wanted action.
