I don’t see Ana Bray as a story about lesbian relationships.
I see it as a story about a soldier exploring her personal reasons for being a Guardian and why she fights.
She fight to protect what she loves, and ONE of those things just happens to be a[i]woman[/i] she is in love with.
I don’t experience it as “forced” because interacting with such people IRL is part of my experience.
And there isn’t one [i]right[/i] way to portray ANY relationship. Gay or straight. Lest we forget the heroes in [i]Rogue One[/i] antagonized each other until sharing a romantic kiss before dying.
No one complained about [i]forced [/i] heterosexuality.
So those who experience it as forced may need to realize that they are saying more about their own lives and their own attitudes than anything else.
