You don't seem to grasp the fact a characters sexuality is irrelevant to the story. So why have a character make note of it? What purpose, as far as the game is concerned, does it serve? The answer in my opinion, is none that I can see. So, is her characters sexuality being "forced"? Yes, in a manner of speaking, it is. Which begs the question, why? What was their motivation for doing so? Are they trying to make a sociopolitical statement, in a video game? We get enough of that as it is and I personally don't feel it's necessary to bring that, in any form, into a purely entertainment realm which people engage in to escape reality. And video games like Destiny are sci-fi fantasy and should remain as such whenever possible. Note: I'm not bigoted , racist, or homophobic IRL. However, Destiny is not real life and certain aspects of reality have no place in it other than to make some kind of statement. So in that regard I agree with the OP's viewpoint in essence.
