Dear Bungie, I have been farming escalation protocol for weeks of my available playtime for what it seems to be a public service to others since I get no rewards. I’ve spent double, if not triple digits of hours setting up zones, inviting people, grinding etc. Even after this so called scaling buff for boss defeats I still get nothing. I’m always trying to help out and will accept even lower lights to try and get them thru it and have a good experience. The problem I have is the RNG is ridiculous still. I’ve helped quite a few first timers through EP and they end up getting the gun first try. I have helped people grinding just that day and they get it. Now my son was born a few days ago. The little quiet time I have left seems to be chaperoning guardians through an end game event to see everyone else get something I have worked so hard for, and they just leave since they obtained the gun and here I am trying to find another guardian to replace and run all 7 waves over again. My most recent experience, I’m on wave 7 already after several completions, the Knight is on his last bar and my son wakes up starts crying right as the knight is dropping. I see 3 guardians get the smg and I still get nothing. My son summed this experience up quite nicely and reassured me I would never see the smg and shotgun. EP requires little to no skill. That’s what is so frustrating. I have to hope I get something and it doesn’t matter how much I play, or practice it, or be a team player. I’ve had guardians join on the last round, get the weapon, then leave a hole to be replaced which takes even more time all while trying to get as many people to stay in promises of hastened vigilant farming. I’ve gotten Whisper of the worm, the catalyst, the ship blueprint and have beaten the two heroic versions. I appreciate that mission, it requires coordination, practice and determination. EP is nothing but a mindless time-sink for the unfortunate. I may never get those guns, and that’s what’s frustrating. I’ve put in the time, but that doesn’t matter. All that matters is what number the die lands on.
