First I just want to say thanks for all support with the Destiny National Geographic post. Our budget is getting better and I was able to up Dave's pay from pennies to dimes. Yay.
Anyway this post is going to short of be like my Thaviks The Depraved post from many months ago. I will basically try to add lore and depth to bosses that have no lore. Mainly Lost sector bosses.
Graxus, Blind Captain
It's a very interesting name and yet he's just a copy and pasted captain in a lost sector. So I'm going to give him lore.
Location
His location is scavengers den in the EDZ outskirts.
I'll talk more about his location in a minute.
Name
So how did Graxus get the name Blind Captain. Well first let's figure out if he is really blind. Well it would be pretty stupid if your commanding officer was blind so most likely he is not blind but probably has bad eyesight.
How he got bad eyesight was probably from a wound sustained in battle. 3 possible enemies that could have caused this.
Cabal Gladiator.
Hive knight.
Guardian.
I have not included thrall or cabal war beast because of the height difference between them. Also vex were not included due to lack of melee combatants.
Gladiator
Least likely of the three. The Gladiator uses short range cleavers and is slow but tanky. Due to the cabal weighing at about 300-400lbs they use jet packs to increase maneuverability but Gladiators don't use them. The fallen are very mobile and are always moving this puts the Gladiator at a huge disadvantage. Ultimately it comes down to wether or not you can keep your distance.
Hive Knight
Now the hive knight uses pretty big blades so the chance of him suffering an eye injury instead of losing his whole head is very slim.
Guardian
Most likely this would be a hunter with golden gun subclass because of their use of knifes. But I find it hard to believe he would survive an encounter with a guardian.
So my best guess is this captain was part of the old houses before the red war. And his house must've gotten in a fight with another house.
Back to location
So why is he at the EDZ. You'd think he wouldn't even be allowed to fight with his poor vision. Well that's just it he doesn't fight. He is in the EDZ outskirts, the only place without fighting between fallen and cabal. He is a battle strategist that oversees the war against the cabal, planning attacks and raids.
Conclusion
Graxus was a captain for one of the houses. His house was battling another house for salvage in a neutral territory.
He plans to lead a hit and run on an outpost. During the attack a stealth captain gets behind him and attempts to slit his throat. Graxus ducks out of the way from a bullet causing the other captain to hit his eyes instead of his throat. His allies finished off the rest of the fallen and help him escape.
Years later his vision returns but he will always be blind in his left eyes. The fallen houses unite for survival and Graxus, while not the fighter he once was, is used to plan and strategize battles. He, through multiple successful attacks, gains a reputation and the name Graxus, Blind Captain.
Soon begins the red war and the fallen start launching offensives all over the EDZ. Graxus is stationed at the scavenger's den where he will remain until he is unfortunately killed by guardians.
So I hoped you enjoyed. 🥖🥖🥖

Edited by meatballsublime: 8/21/2018 2:48:59 PMYou got it all wrong... Let me set the record straight... See (no pun intended), Graxus suffers from astigmatism and wears corrective contacts in his eyes. The astigmatism is pretty mild, so he doesn't need contacts, but he prefers them. Looking past his eyes, Graxus loves himself some very spicy buffalo wings. He gorges on them daily. In fact, before he was the "Blind Captain", he used to be called "Buffalo Captain" by his closest buds (e.g. "mates" for those of you "across the pond"). During one fateful day of gorging buffalo chicken tenders for breakfast, Graxus realized he forgot to put in his contacts. Hastily running to his Skiff for his contacts because he was late for work, he forgot to wash his hands first... In typical fashion, his buddies just rolled on the floor laughing while Glaxus ran around screaming "IT BURNS! IT BURNS!". From that day on, his friends called him the "Blind Captain". ...The truth is, he isn't really blind. "Blind Captain" is just his nickname, which is why he is still able to spam-dodge-teleport any and all attacks...
-
Why is it assumed that they are physically blind? It could just as easily refer to an intellectual blindness. Such as blindfully obeying his superiors instead of recognizing bad orders when he hears them... Perhaps he is willfully blind to dangers that others might perceive because of how naturally strong he is and is just able to ignore them....

Maybe he has great senses like Kenshi from MK...

Cool, I did enjoy it. One Captain instantly came to mind when I saw your post and was disappointed it wasn't him. The Drowned Captain, you know who I'm talking about.
-
I vote we use this post to put our own stories of Lost Sector bosses in.
-
Can you make a tag for you DNG posts?
-
Fallen have four eyes and where he is stationed gets hit every twenty minutes by cabal. Plus the Fallen aren't that sentimental about each other. If you can't fight you die. All of your made up Lore is twaddle.
-
Your eye sight can be damaged by more than hand to hand combat.

Sorry. Berserker?

The "Lost (clearly marked on map - may as well have casual GPS coordinates) Sectors" were a huge opportunity wasted by Bunglevision

This was nice. Thanks for making this.

I'm an aborted fetus and I feel alive again!

I really think that lost sectors and their bosses are under developed and under appreciated. So I really enjoyed that.

Love it! Really reminds me of Shadow of Mordor's Orc titles
