Now that I think about it...fabian strategy would be fantastic in Destiny 2.
In Destiny 1, Fabian started off as an interesting auto that sucked.
Eventually they buffed it to make it one of the more solid auto rifles in the game.
Considering how much better auto rifles do now in Destiny 2, with higher base range and overall better accuracy...fabian strategy would be really good, especially at close range.
If you don't remember it's perk, here's a brief break down of what it did:
It's exotic perk was to change to a faster fire rate when enemies were closer to you, about a side arms effective range length to get it to activate.
Once active, it would grant you faster fire rate, faster handling, and better stability.
It also restored a percent of the magazine on each kill.
It had life support, a perk that had a chance to start health regeneration on kills if you were critical.
And it had crowd control, which is Destiny 1's version of rampage.
As an exotic, it doesn't really sound all that special, but it was especially effective when you got the weirdness of it down.
It's bonus perks alone makes it so versatile that it's suitable for almost any condition or encounter.
600 rpm for better long range control and accuracy.
900 rpm for close range to melt rushing players.
If low and you get a kill, chance to heal, restores a portion of the magazine, and grants a temporary damage buff.
Fabian strategy, although not exactly my favorite Destiny exotic, is definitely one of the most under rated due to how Destiny 1 treated auto rifles.
In Destiny 2, this thing would be a fantastic weapon and honestly it's something that I believe, much like the ace of spades, would be something players might really strive to get.
I say, if possible, make it into an exotic quest later on if you can bungie.
