New Crucible/PVP Ideas... (Yes a lil' ranting aswell)
I want to enjoy the Crucible and Gambit more. I really do. It's been too hard though to enjoy a simple QuickPlay, Competitive, Supremacy, or Gambit game with a group of 4 smashing down on solo players (and also get more irritated by people leaving mid game). Also with games where I don't instantly lose, Gambit is really fun and a great new idea. I enjoy all the game types, but what if there are new ones?
Here are my freaking new ideas:
Matchmaking ideas: So solo players have a down fall in Crucible and Gambit. When you're teamed up against a FireTeam grouped of 4 or 6, you're screwed unless they don't play the objectives, or your other solo or grouped team members don't know how to play the objective. I've had a lot of downfall in Crucible and Gambit tonight with joining losing teams mid-game and spawn trapped way too many times.
So my idea is, make it where solo players are matched with other solo players, and for grouped FireTeams vice versa.
You say, why not just make a team. Some solo players can't just do that for some kind of reasons. For QuickPlay, I don't see what the big sweaty deal is of try-harding so much. That type of attitude is for Competitive imo.
So idea: Solos vs solos, groups vs groups. That type of deal.
Crucible: I want to talk more about Gametypes for Crucible. I enjoy each game mode they've made, but it's cool to see more:
-No Exotics and/or Supers/Abilities. That would be interesting to play. People rely on their powerful exotics or their abilities to get the easy kills. It would be interesting to see this.
-Certain Weapons Only. Example: Sidearms Only, Shotguns Only, Swords Only, etc... This would be interesting. Maybe make a game mode similiar to that.
(Maybe make the game choose that type of gun, and the game automatically gives you that gun it chose. Example: if it selects Snipers, the game would give you snipers, that's not yours, and you spawn with random perks and the perks change each time you when die and then respond. And if you're lucky, you can spawn with an exotic at times) That would be a bit tough maybe, but I would love to see everyone just go around with just Swords or Rockets all at once. Also maybe make infinite ammo possible for it. It would make a fun challenge to run and get ammo though.
-King of the Hill. Idea says it, but after a certain time, make the hill move to a random location on the map. Maybe have more than one hill where people have to split up to get them so you can earn more points maybe. Would be a nice, fast paced gametype. Wouldn't really compare it with Control. Once you're in the hill, you start to earn points over time and not by kills.
-Rift and SRL. Come on. When it came down to competitive, the best two game modes I ever played in Destiny 1 were those two. I would love to see these two come back again. Especially Sparrow Racing League. I miss my duck horn...
Maybe test it around for Crucible Labs for any new ideas people have. I'm wanting some more insane fast-paced game modes instead of just Mayhem really.
Gambit: No changes really. Just do something with Sleeper. No skill required to use that gun. Although I outgun most Sleeper users once I spot them with a sniper or my Queenbreaker which requires skill to use, it's still an issue. It's a great gun, but one shot across the map with no fall off damage and with plenty of ammo for multiple invasions, it's a problem. Great for PVE damage. Just too much for PVP.
Yes, Forsaken just came out and they have more planned down the rode. I honestly don't see Crucible or even maybe Gambit being touched in awhile with these next DLCs coming out. I dunno. So yeah, maybe a lil ranting here, but also ideas that would seem neat. If anyone has Crucible game mode ideas, go ahead and share them.
