I personally don't understand why the devs made the invader overpowered. Why does the guardian that invades the other side get to see everyone's locations and have overshields? Not only that, but they can also see everyone's mote count so that they know exactly which guardians to kill to have the biggest impact. I don't know why the guardian that wants to split off from his team to attack the other team gets a buff. Invading the other team should be a high risk, high reward situation. You are leaving the comfort and "safety" of your territory to potentially hinder the other team.
They also mostly use Linear Fusion Rifles so they can just body shot guardians that they know the locations of to get a one hit kill. That doesn't make any sense why Bungie would do that.
Don't get me wrong. I think the Gambit game mode was a great idea and with the right changes, would be a great mode but currently I think that is the only big flaw in my eyes.

Its unfair, so unfair I feel sorry for the other team every time I invade. Mainly because of how OP sleeper is. If sleeper wasnt in gambit I probably wouldn't be causing so many war crimes to the other team. Or if I couldn't wall hack the whole time
-
When the invader comes through the portal, all 4 guys should just stop what they’re doing and hunt the invader. We did this last night and had no problems shutting them down.

I sUcK aT GamBit, I JusT waNt it To be PvE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

It’s 4 v 1. If you are in a semi coordinated team, the odds are not against you unless he is really good. And if he’s that good, then you just tip your hat and move on. I’m a solo player, so I don’t get as much coordination on my teams. But even if you aren’t on a good team, or can’t communicate, you can kill him yourself if you have the right weapon, ability or super and are skilled enough. Worst case scenario, he kills your whole team and you move on. In that case, go do it to them and you are all back to square one. I’m not one of these guys to say “get good”, but I do think it’s fair.

What would be the point of invading if you had nothing to really hurt them with? Oh no an invader is heading over that maybe will kill one person occasionally. The whole point of the invader is to make you worried and play smarter. If you make it high risk then nobody invades and it becomes a PVE mode.
-
If the defending team are really alert and not distracted by other things happening then the invader's risk isn't so low, and the pay off could be less depending on how the defending team plays. Even better for defenders if they know the spawn locations for invaders.

Git gud you filthy casual

I am not saying that in any way that Bungie should get rid of invaders. What I am saying is that even though an invader goes in to 1v4 a team when they are not forced to in any way to go over there, then why should they get any buffs? The definition on Gambit is to take a risk that will give you an advantage but there is little to no risk when invading but you can get a huge advantage. It shouldn't be low risk, high reward, but high risk, high reward. That is why I dont think invaders should be able to see everyone through walls, see their more count, and have an over shield when you can already go in with heavy ammo and a super. And yes, the team can turn and shoot but you dont necessarily want to do that of you have a lot of motes and maybe a blocker present, and also, they dont spawn in the same spot at all times, and you dont have wall jacks. And even if a team does kill the invader, what was the risk? Maybe some time? 30 seconds max. All the while, you at the very least make most if not the entire enemy team stop to try to kill you or hide. All I'm saying is that they need to rethink the point of invading and possibly change some buffs or other aspects when invading.

Invaders are definitely overpowered if you fight one on one, but they are fighting 4 on 1. They can be easily gunned down by sleeper. One shot sniper to the head. However, they can also be killed by team shooting, the easier way to get hand cannon kills for Ace of Spades.
-
As an invader, you have to go 4v1 your job is to turn the tide of the battle for your team, an example, the other night I was invading and got 20+ kills and healed the enemy primeval for around 150% between both rounds, because of that my team was able to stage a comeback and win the game, a good invader is terrifying but a crappy one can lose your team the game, invading is fine.

Gambit is perfect the way it is, it's a level advantage game mode so if the invader us lower light them you can take him with a bow if you want even with the shield. I did yesterday actors the board and another time when I had 13 motes seen him coming for me and had my badlander ready and took him out again. Just gotta play smart they are easily seen that's what the shield does also so they cant hide in the cut and snipe watch the whole board and protect yourself as you would in normal crucible 1vs4 is tough if the whole team aims at the invader
-
I think it's less an issue of the Invader being overpowered and more an issue of too many players want to ignore the PvP aspect of the PvEvP game mode. I see my teammates ignore that there is an invader in insanely stupid ways when I solo que. Smart teams preplan. have someone or two someones with low/zero motes who can hunt the invader down/distract them till their time is up. Honestly I think the issue here is that groups of solo players really play this mode stupidly.
-
Busting down invaders is a joke if you shoot, move and communicate. If you dont then you will probably die, lose your motes and then complain on the internet.
-
I don't like it either, but I have to argue that both teams have this ability, so it is balanced.
-
Your ghost should have chosen someone else ..
-
Bungie tweeted yesterday that they were looking into a "fix" for sleeper bc of all the complaints. And here we go..
-
They announce when the invader is coming, highlight them and it’s 4 vs 1 for god sakes you whiny -blam!-... When an invader enters the portal put your head on a swivel and you’ll kill them before they do any damage 99/100 Bank a lot of motes when the match starts then bank as soon as you can after than so you can be ready for the invader and not have to worry about losing motes Learn how to play the game and stop crying about everything, you people are part of the reason destiny 1 went downhill and destiny 2 was terrible at launch.
-
Ughhhh here we go again. Another whiny bitch....Either adapt or don't play. Yeesh. I am not even good at pvp and i be nailing these invaders. Foh. Talk about shitt that matters you monkey
-
idk ... strategy? how trash would gambit be if the invaders just got insta-killed. Not everyone is good at pvp, so you send your best guardians through the portal to flip the table.
-
They are 1v4 for gods sake.. and they have a very limited amount of time to find enemies on a HUGE map. Yes linear fusions (looking at you sleeper) are an issue, but without them it would be perfectly fine
-
4v1 lol that's why common sense
-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mthtMAM73g8 check out the stream, new patch, time to grind that iron too let get it!
-
Overshields-So the invader can not get one shot and possibly get a kill See through walls-So they can find an enemy to kill with in the 30 seconds Mote count- so they can prioritize that guardian so they can slow down the progression of the enemy team's primevil
-
Disable power weapons while invading. Problem solved.
-
They should just make it to where motes operate the portal. If you want to invade, deposit modes at the portal and not have them count toward your overall score. They could introduce a portal debuff to prevent the same person from going to often.
-
lol....I get triple and sometimes quadruple kills all the time as an invader...wardcliff coil is my new best friend
