Savathûn and Xivu Arath

*Spoilers for Forsaken below* I'm not sure if this has been raised before, but I've been wondering about the Hive sisters and their presence in the Reef. So from the last couple of weekly missions in the Dreaming City, we've seen more and more Taken enemies appearing, seemingly under the banner of Xivu Arath: including her son and daughters. There's a lot of speculation about whether Savathûn has formed an alliance with her warmongering sister in a bid to take over the Dreaming City, but I'm not convinced - largely because of HOW Xivu Arath's forces are presenting themselves - as Taken. After All, Xivu Arath is war. Not cunning. Not understanding. Why would she desire the ability to Take when she already has the ability to destroy world's with her armies? And why would she Take her own children; robbing them not only of their free will, but also of valuable avenues for tithing... Oryx never took Crota or his daughters, assumedly for these reasons, at least in part. But Savathûn doesn't want to tithe. She doesn't want to be bound to the will of their worm gods anymore. So if she has found a way to break free of her obligations to them, she would be free to Take as much as she wanted. Thus far, it's pretty safe to say that Savathûn has learned the ability to Take. Enemies linked to Quria and Savathûn have been popping up everywhere over the last year, and yet now we are seeing Taken enemies belonging to Xivu Arath. But seeing her children taken, and knowing of Savathûn's cunning nature, what if they don't belong to Xivu Arath at all? What if Savathûn has Taken her younger sister's forces; her children, in an act of cunning upon learning her new abilities. The sisters and Oryx were always attacking one another in different ways over the millennia to highlight their weaknesses and grow stronger. What if this is what Savathûn is doing to Xivu Arath; highlighting her weaknesses whilst simultaneously bolstering her own forces? And if she is taking her sister's children, could she have also taken Xivu Arath herself in an act of ultimate cunning and deceit... What do you guys think? Any merit to this theory? I apologise if this has been posited before; I did look around but couldn't find a similar theory out there yet...

  • Option two: They have united. Because the agents of the Light are now waging wars on all fronts (Mara Sov carving out her own Throne World, while we fight and slay gods), and have them feeling the squeeze.
