and of course the question is why were scouts nerfed in the first place. Second why wasn't it discussed. Had a great scout but learned quickly this was now a hand cannon game....

The lied, as they said they were not nerfing anything! Now you can get legendary's that 2-tap you and exotics that barely cut hair!

Edited by zNapSack: 9/22/2018 7:11:00 AM
this was now a hand cannon game....
You got that right. I now use 'hand cannons' frequently, whereas before I rarely if ever did. However, in reality, and like I tell people, a handgun is for those times when ones rifle malfunctions and can't be cleared in a timely manner, or is dropped when it shouldn't have been. That is handguns are primarily backup weapons, or for use when a rifle is unnecessary or inappropriate. If one is knowingly going to engage in combat or the chance is high they'll end up in combat then a rifle is the right tool for the task. The same is true in Destiny for the most part, Unless the hand cannons are better than the rifles. And at present hand cannons are quite useful in many situations. However, their biggest drawback is the lengthy reload time compared to magazine fed rifles for example. You'd think Guardians, being scif-fi gunfighters would utilize revolver speed loaders which are available in reality. Hence I can reload a revolver in reality faster than my characters can in Destiny. I know. It comes as a shock to some people, but as human beings there are some things we can do better in reality than we can in some video games.

In D2, revolvers do use a type of speed loader. Rounds are not loaded one by one. Your average revolver owner would not be able to reload as quickly, even with a speed strip. And in a combat situation? Forget about it.

However, that wasn't what I was referring to. I was referring to speed loaders to be specific, although I didn't mention them. That said, I can absolutely reload a revolver faster than I can in Destiny. However, I'm not your 'average revolver shooter' or any other kind for that matter. Not to brag, it's simply the truth. That said I'm by no means the fastest, although I compete routinely in a variety of shooting sports. However, myself aside, you're correct.

Have you fired the new(ish) Kimber revolver? It's currently my favorite.

Edited by zNapSack: 9/22/2018 8:20:34 AMNo, I haven't yet. I'm not a big fan of revolvers for concealed carry, although they do have a place and I don't have anything against them. However, for most people, a SA handgun is preferable for a number of reasons. Don't get me wrong, I like well made revolvers and I shoot them routinely in competition (Cowboy action, aka SASS) and occasionally hunt with them as well.

Im absolutely sure you mean Pulse Rifle and Shotgun

It's Bungie, they routinely nerf things we don't ask for, no-one knows why...

Edited by zNapSack: 9/22/2018 8:52:50 AMI can say I sort of know why since it's not a secret. I'm guessing they do so because the data they obtain indicates some weapons are simply OP compared to others, or the defenses in place to counter them are insufficient. So you may ask, then why not buff defense? Ah, but that may (would?) buff the targets vs every other weapon as well. I'm not sure they can buff a target against only one weapon archetype such as hand cannons, and not others. Therefore they have to nerf OP weapons. Again, that is just an assumption on my part. Good question though! And to me, a good question is more important than a good answer. However, many people don't ask the right questions. And you can't give the the right answer if you're solving the wrong problem.
