Seriously? Posting someone's suicide on Bungie's forums? WTF? I have Bipolar Disorder and this sends a very negative message. I wonder if anyone here understands why? **If Bungie truly cares about Suicide they will remove this thread. This could have a very negative affect on someone who is on the verge of suicide. This should have been removed as fast as it was put up. Take it down before someone else has their story posted in these forums. This is a Trigger, for real.

  • Bungie should have deleted the OP and inserted the help info. Also, this dude was a Military Vet. We lose about 20 military vet's to suicide everyday... everyday. I agree with the help and awareness but using peoples real name and announcing their death on a gaming forum is tacky and careless.

  • Yep, and Idgaf if he was a military vet or a postman.

  • But not our postmen? Or Gardners? Or dentists? Or road workers?

  • Yes of course. 22 MIlitary Vets commit suicide a day. Many of them are Gardners, Dentist and road workers after they leave the service. My point is 22 a day... this why they need our help. We need to figure out why Military Vets are committing suicide so we can help bring this number down. I am a military vet with bipolar disorder who has played D2. This hits home for me and I hope and pray that suicide will become a thing of the past for everyone.

  • But we don't need to figure out why non-vets are committing suicide?

  • Good God man... I get it dude, everyone is important. But when it comes to problem solving why not start with the largest group of people committing suicide... Learning from this group of people will only help us learn about others and vice versa...

Lol. Ppl have been committing suicide since the beginning. Whether someone was in the military or not, is 100% irrelevant.

  • Because awareness helps more people than it hurts, and the hundreds of likes and supportive comments overwhelm the trash comments like yours. As someone who has struggled with mental health, and also works in the field, I applaud OP and Dmg for supporting mental health awareness and showing people that it’s ok to have these feelings, people care that you care are going through it, and there are options to get help if you want to seek it out.

I have to agree with this to a certain extent. It can be a grey area. Some peoples mindsets aren't up to looking at threads likes this the way they are intended to be looked at. It can be a trigger. I feel very sorry about this and as someone who's father committed suicide when I was 2 years old, It is not something I look at lightly or in any way shape or form want to insult anyone with. But you can't call this guy ignorant, as he is right and there are people out there who don't handle things like this well.

  • Spreading the awareness of suicide prevention is the best way to help out behind the screen. DMG did the right thing and linked several sites, numbers, and other sources to help spread awareness and save someones life before it is too late. No one is going to take their life over this post, please calm down.~Acrosity

  • Well then please correct me where I am wrong and we could have a nice discussion about our stances, but saying that "I do not get it" will not help me pinpoint a basic incorrect stance in my argument.

  • You win. It's that easy for you. You win. I'd rather concede than try to explain to you what others in the thread have already picked up on and understand... You have nothing to worry about. Your life will be just fine.

  • Well then you can very well be that way, no pressure against you. Certainly no way to carry out a discussion, but so be it I guess.
