Crucible Labs: Consider Trying A Mode/Playlist Where Exotics are Limited/Disabled

Yes, definitely!

Anything's worth trying once...

No, absolutely not!

Telesto, Wardcliff, GL, VW, AoS, Mida, Wormhusk, One Eye, and the list goes on... Since vanilla, there have been dominant exotics that outdo pretty much any and everything else that could go in that weapon slot. This is because by their very design, with all their special boosts/perks/stats, exotics are made to be class breaking, and thus imbalanced. With the Forsaken drop you guys made some notable changes to try to make us guardians and our weapons feel more powerful. But with the change in weapon tuning and the new ammo economy, there are just some benefits that exotics provide that regular bullets just can't beat. Exotics are static, we know what they can do. But now that you've brought back random rolls, give us the chance to really test our best stuff against each other on a more strictly leveled playing field. In a playlist where exotics are limited/regulated/disallowed there's less of a chance of a "use or lose" meta arising, since every weapon - and even armor in some cases - could conceivably have a 'god roll', and every player has a different definition of what specifically that means to them. Maybe Outlaw + Kill Clip rises to the top, but maybe in the right hands, Moving Target + Headseeker usurps it, maybe zen moment + explosive payload. Either way, players of all skill levels will have a chance to compete and grow with a deeper, wider arsenal at their disposal and matches won't become frustrating exercises in trying to cope with cheese or "crutches". After all, you still gotta have aim for most of these perks to make a difference. Ps. Bring back Arms Day!
