4 days ago, a 40k game came out; a game named Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus. A game of exploration, tactics, and growing threats.
Right now I’ve only completed a few missions, our machines indicate that the Necrons have awoken 21% of the forces needed to overwhelm us, and my cohort has managed to avoid casualties. It’s probably not much, but I’m having fun with it!
Anybody else playing this? How’s your cohort handling this? Anybody interested in it? What do you wanna know?

I'm at about 50% Progress so far. I usually have very strong melee characters in games like this. My main one is good, but not quite as strong as I'd hoped. Ranged seems to be where it's at despite their low damage numbers, which is why the only Troops I ever end up using are Rangers. Overall, healers and range seem to be the most used, especially once you start facing the snipers that constantly teleport and Overwatch with every hit and the real melee bosses will have a massive AoE on their swing. Hoping melee becomes more advantageous later on or I might just start over and focus solely on range with a melee as just backup. I also just upgraded his melee weapon, so hopefully that will be the turning point, but and additional 2 damage doesn't seem that impressive on paper at this point.

Looks pretty good

Necrons have awoken 22% of their forces so far in their playthrough, got a pretty tough melee/leader techpriest, been loving the skitarii troops so far, vanguard provide great fire support

Wait a second, is this like a Warhammer take on XCOM? Sign me the -blam!- up!

Looked at it, but saw a few things in the reviews that put me off. Mostly holding out for Mutant: Year Zero in two weeks, though.
