So after dumping 50+ into RDR2 and 15+ hours into online here is my opinion.
While most AAA titles offer great multiplayer and average single player rockstar have completely flipped it.
The single player is very good (there are a few large issues i have) and is something you can easily pick it up a couple of weeks later and continue off easily.
As for the multiplayer..... well its terrible, terrible economy, medicore missions, and the small issues in single player are amplified massively online.
And the sessions are broken (i have been in 3 different sessions in a row where everyone was in the same spawn region and it was always a massacre)
Overall review:
Singleplayer: 8/10
Online: 4/10

Edited by Neilius Maximus: 12/4/2018 9:36:34 AMI'd rather have better single player than multiplayer. I couldn't care less about online, by far got my money's worth with the story mode alone. Also the online is still in it's early stage. It's definitely going to get better.

So a 12/20, or a 60%? Also while on topic, the VGAs are as predictable and disappointing as I feared it would be. Love the announcements, but man the rdr2 duck riding is overwhelming. Some it definitely deserved to win, no question, but ost? That's just ducked up. Even best narrative I wouldn't have given rdr2, but at least that one wasnt so clear cut.

1) online is in beta 2) rockstar already said they are adjusting the economy aspect
-
The economy for online is like it is because $$$. Though to be completely honest, I think they just quickly put random prices for stuff because some things seem priced reasonably like ammo and such, but looting gives you a fraction of what it did in the single player, but hunting is the same. Selling animal stuff can get you more than doing main missions.

My ratings 9.5 for single player And as of right not 6.5 for online. Rockstar has said that they will continue to update the game so I’m hoping they fix the economy
-
I'd wait to criticize the online gameplay until it actually comes out of beta, but that's just me.
-
Is this your first Rockstar game?
-
People are only complaining because of online prices Remember gta online was the same way everyone enjoyed it when they had money but when they didn’t they complained
-
I'd say that single player is more important.
While most AAA titles offer great multiplayer and average single player rockstar have completely flipped it.
Uhh... The single player sandbox is the entire -blam!-ing point. Single player: solid enough. Multiplayer: Utterly irrelevant.
-
The multiplayer I agree with the single player score is irrelevant

Look at Roger Ebert over here.

Getting real tired of this dramatic gaming wave people seem to be clinging to lol Try to have an opinion on the finished product next time?
-
I'd give it some time. While it may be ass now, Rockstar has a habit of sticking by what they make. Take GTA Online. Complete cluster-blam!- on release, but became a fantastic, highly enjoyable game after some patching and content updates.

Online beta. I do agree with your points however, but despite all of those negative aspects, playing with friends can bring some awesome and hilarious moments that are absolutely worth it.

My wife has been playing it and I believe she would agree. I also think the economy is pretty messed up. She wanted this rifle that was for $300 and her missions were paying her like $8. I told her it was time to grind!
