With the lack of a search facility on the Bungie Forums I don't know if this has been posed before.
I've made a start towards the Gambit pinnacle weapon, but much to my dismay I switched character to see that the quest was then 0% complete! I thought something strange was happening when the new season started and I had to pick up the quest on all my characters. I just put this down to a procedure required in order to (kind of) activate that character to work towards the quest. Apparently now I was wrong.
However, after looking around I happy to see I'm not to only one who also mis-understood the TWAB when it was announced what the new Pinnacle weapons would be. Here's a link
The way the season reads is that the following sentence applies to all the Pinnacle weapons and not just the Crucible quest:
We got a lot of feedback from players that they didn’t like splitting their progress toward the Crucible pinnacle quest. All these objectives use account wide constructs so players can complete these objectives on ANY character.
Now if this sentence was to apply to only the Crucible quest (mention above that sentence), then the formatting/indentation is to blame. The indentation makes the sentence apply to the section generally and not just the section about the Crucible quest.
I'm guessing this would also have upset a lot of people, not just myself. It's disappointing that the account based progression has only been applied to one specific quest, and not to all pinnacle quests generally. I'm not expecting an explanation as to why, but I guess what I am asking for is that if there is enough response from the community, then the other Pinnacle weapons quests should be made account based ASAP.
Yes, players want to enjoy the Crucible on all their characters, not just one, but that also applies to those of us who enjoy Strikes and Gambit too. This is going against the aim of making "more ways to play" that Bungie has mentioned before.
Please up-vote this thread to help gain visibility in the hope that the dev team will see it and be able to resolve what I'm happy to call a simple bug.
