Title says it all. Armor, ESPECIALLY Raid Armor in Destiny was absolutely BAD. ASS. Weapons and armor in general had specific themes according to race and activity. The VOG Weapons looked like we had found Vex experimental weaponry. The armor looked like we pulled machinery off the walls and out of dead Vex and wore it. Crotas End Weapons look like we found them buried under a pile of dirt and Hive Worms. The armor looked like we carved the chitin off Crota and slapped it on. Kings Fall followed the same idea, ripping bones out of the Twin Witches and hacked plates off the Warpriest. And the Wrath gear, looks like random weapons scattered around the Cosmodrome that SIVA dragged to the Plaguelands, corrupted, enhanced. And the armor, the armor makes it look like SIVA had infected US. And not just raids, the Darkblades Helm, the Flayer Mantles, the Devouring Maw helmet. All of these armor pieces were dark, twisted, flashy and UNIQUE. Bungie I don’t know who you fired but we need them back. We’re up to our necks in reskins and armor that just looks plain. Leviathan Armor was decent, but the Prestige was just regular in purple. EOW Armor was unique, and I thought the ornaments were decent, but the Spire was just a copy paste and the ornaments were just a shader. I was so HOPEFUL for Last Wish. I mean a freakin TAKEN WISH DRAGON, here’s our chance to get our armor that looks like we RIPPED IT OUT OF HER. And the Prestige, the Ornaments, easily could have applied Taken effects or the constellation patterns we see on the guns or preferably BOTH. But we got something that just looks like another random world drop. Same goes for Scourge. The base set I find admittedly better than Last Wish, but there is no Prestige, there’s no ornaments, there’s no badass. I expect another Age of Triumph. I get the feeling that Bungie is setting themselves up to repeat the reboot of the D1 raids with Prestige Last Wish, Prestige SOTP, maybe a Prestige Year 3 Leviathan, with all the cool armor and weapons and exotics then, just like they did in D1. And I’m not happy about it, because it’s just repeating D1 and that’s if they EVEN DO IT. Step it up Bungie. I’m tired of the only cool armor and weapons being exotic. There used to be legendaries with visual aesthetics on par or BETTER than exotics. I miss debating whether an exotic perk was REALLY worth giving up my Ogre Guantlets or my Glowing Tentacle Robe.
