So basically instead of giving you more freedom and room for making yourself unique and different, they've now making the least liked part of d2 even worse...by forcing people into set Roles...
Look get it, you want people to do exactly what you want at all time whole logged on and you want people to either play destiny or live a real life, but come on
We didnt want LESS freedom of build...

When I say least-liked game mode, keep in mind that I actually enjoyed some facets of Gambit it's just that even though I enjoy it I do realize most of the community does not and it doesn't seem like an intelligent move to go ahead and build upon that before fixing a lot of the things that people really do enjoy
-
Although as with everything fresh and new there's going to be some exploration to it some story to uncover, and even though Destiny storylines have been lacking as of late, I think despite all of my sense is telling me to give up completely, I will check out season of The Drifter and see how this new storyline plays out I am a little bit excited that they gave us the option to play the story line from two different perspective
-
Well, let's see. Gambit basically has 4 roles. Do you fit into all of them? Besides, it looks like you can get ALL the stuff and choose your role as you want. If I had a dime for every time someone was pissed at others for grabbing their motes, or staying and fighting blockers, or ALWAYS invading, I'd be rich. But I understand that some people don't see the long term picture or big picture in general. I knew if I came to the forum tonight, I'd see a bunch of people hating on yet another dlc solely based on a trailer...lol, the destiny community never fails
-
Well I didnt just watch the trailer, but in the end I see where if a bunch of people a totally enjoyed gambit not prime that they would be bringing out an even sweatier version. But I dont think gambit is all that popular to begin with. I like killing the aliens..I never grab motes unless i have to, becaus I stay at the bank and snipe, also clear blocks. I feel like we all had roles, but it seems like what I'm seeing is that for that gambit round you have to be one thing...whereas before even though I didnt like it...I could make up for at least one bad player in matchmade games by doing two roles.. I do commonly get the most kills and a few kill mongers while sitting at the bank
-
If they stick on the fixed role it's just dampening the possibility of doing a multi role position
-
Just because you have the mote collector set on doesn't mean you can't jump through the portal and invade the other team.
-
But will I be effective against the blockers with the reaper set?
-
Edited by DrippyChimp: 3/5/2019 5:36:34 PMYou have a gun right? Then yes.
-
I'm just hoping I dont have to pump 2 sword stokes into a phalanx rather than one because I'm not wearing stupid chroma armor.
-
Even Flex players tend to play 1 role. Look at every MOBA, a team that's more organized in terms of roles will frequently win over more skill with less coordination. This doesn't even mention professional sports.
-
Now if they make the new Gambit Maps to where you can't see all of the enemies spawning in from the bank, I probably more than likely play the Reaper, my build for that is probably one of the most underrated. I have a mark 44 with Rampage and armor piercing rounds and outlaw, backup mag. The Le monarque, and the quickfang, I tend to score about 80 up to 100 kills just from sitting at the bank and mopping up when everyone's running back to the bank with the mark 44 in close range so I can scoop up any idle m o t e s before they disappear
-
I just don't want to lose my role because now there are only 4 options I played 2 roles well. Blocker buster and wraith i guess they call it... I just liked sitting on the bank and sniping with the bow...
-
Multi role positions are not, generally, part of winning teams.
-
Unless I can perform one without interfering with the other Busting blockers...and getting kills. If you know your lanes you can almost wipe the hoardes before they get out of spawn tunnels, and you can do it from the bank mostly.

Edited by Raichu Me: 3/1/2019 2:07:26 AMDude... You do know that a huge percentage of kids who left the game were because they wanted a fresh MMO/ RPG experience? ...the game, by word of my mouth, is more a shooter with RPG feels. Come on man they are legit trying now and you think they are doing wrong? WHAT? They are adding complexity to the gear and guns. things Activision probably wanted to gloss over. Tbh i understand both parties... are there tons of other whacked out items? Yes I AGREE but they are trying, man. Give them some credit. Like ANY. The shits hard. They are STUBBORN but they still trying
-
Ah I think I might get some of it...you say, to make an rpg...you should all have the same gear and guns because that's the only viable build? I think you've missed a step somewhere.
-
No... No step missed. I just accept the game for what it is... A shooter with am RPG feel... They advertised wrong... My opinion... Its a shooter So yeah gear can have the same name with different perks..... We can all use the same loadouts cuz that loadout works... Don't blame Bungie because ppl use the same tools over and over.. that's YouTube, lack of creativity and huge amount of care on how one plays against another. Kids use the same stuff over and over because that stuff gets them wins, allows them to feel good and legit metas all other gear... this is not ESO, WoW, Fallout or any other game that has depth gear like you are thinking of. Did team BUNGIE think they could? Yeah. But publishers had rules... And they followed... The gear looking different with a different perk was what they went with in the drop of D2... And people quickly missed RNG... Now... Can we both agree the better fix to the problem you have is if they manage to platform how gear works from a PvE aspect to PvE... As in a nerf for PvP should not affect our PvE.... They should add more perks for supers on gears. Separate the bounds of PvE and PvP to create a more filling experience as you play... Can we agree there?
-
That I do agree with, and I see your point too. I'm not sure if I read that first comment in the right tone anyways. Thought you were saying we need more strict set roles with less customizability to be a better rpg...
-
Lol no. I not full knowledge on all the RPG style but we need variables am perks. I do miss how exciting the gear was in D1. Looks.. all looks lol i like the perks on gear now. Just need some more options for sure with perks.

Can you put down the cheetos and say one coherent thing to which a response would be remotely required?
Can you put down the cheetos and say one coherent thing to which a response would be remotely required?
I'll use this next time... sorry for inconvenient lengthy cracked out messages.

Lol no it's all good. This was my response to the first message, because I was more confused than anything as to what you were saying.
