Now let's begin![/i] Malex and Elite-5 touch down on the rig. It was still raining, and it was still night. Elite-5: Come on, the Titan's body is over here. Malex: Alright, you take point. The two hunters walked up to the body. Malex squatted down and searched the fallen titan. He found what he was looking for Malex: Yep, he was killed by spectral blades alright. Peacemaker, are there any traces of the void light left in these wounds? (Brings out his Ghost) Peacemaker: Hmm (scans wounds) Yep, the light signature matches Rika's spectral blades. I might be able to trace a location from this, just give me a sec. Malex: Man those blades really cut huh? Malex remembered a specific encounter with those blades [i] A Year and Five Months Ago, In The Tower[/i] Malex was walking down the halls of the living quarters in the tower. He had gone on a late-night walk. Rika had been acting a little weird lately. Once she even screamed and spun around like there was somebody grabbing at her. Malex turned to shoot, but there was nobody there. There were other little things going on, he wasn't quite sure what was happening. He walked past her quarters and smiled, nah he was probably imagining things. As he went to continue he heard Rika scream from inside her room. Fortunately, Malex ALWAYS carries his Last Word. He kicked her door open, gun drawn and ready to shoot something. But all he saw was Rika, in her bed slashing her spectral blades in the air. Malex holstered his gun a ran to her, he held her arms down and shook her, desperately trying to wake her. Malex: RIKA!!! WAKE UP!!! Rika woke with a start, she was soaked in sweat and her eyes darted all over her room. She looked at the spectral blades in her hand and gasped, she fazed out her super. Rika looked at Malex and wrapped him in a hug. Rika: Malex, oh lord it was horrible! Malex: Shh, it's okay I'm here. You just had a bad dream. Calm down. Rika: (takes a few deep breaths and pulls away) Malex! I cut you! Malex looks down at his shoulder, sure enough there was a large gash from where a spectral blade got him. Malex: Hey don't worry about it. It's not that bad, plus it wasn't your fault. Rika: Not that bad!? Oh no I'm taking you to the med bay now! (jumps out of bed and grabs his hand) Malex: No really it's (sees that look in her eye) Okay fine. But Peacemaker could... Rika: Malex? Shut. Up. She pulls him out of the room, as Malex leaves he looked back at Sevestapol's Malfeasance in the display case. It was glowing purple. [i]In the Med Bay[/i] Rika was rolling a bandage over Malex's cut. Malex: Rika, what's been with you recently? Rika: ... Malex: Rika? Can I get an answer? Rika: (finishes the bandage) It's nothing...just been kinda stressed lately Malex: Anything I can help with? Rika: No, I'm okay really (turns to leave) Malex: (Grabs her arm) Hey, you know I love you right? Rika: (smiles) I know (kisses him) Goodnight. (leaves) Malex watched her leave, he was worried about her. [i]Present Day, On the Rig[/i] Peacemaker: Guardian? Guardian? You there? Malex snapped back to reality Malex: Yeah buddy, I'm here. Any luck? Peacemaker: For once, yes. I have a location. Not a specific one, but a general area. Elite-5: For a pair of hunters? That's more than enough Malex: (nods) Alright, let's go They transmat to their ships [i]On the Dreaming City, In the Hive Tunnels [/i] Dredgen Void knew that if she could find a way to get rid of Rika's presence, it would be here. She needed full control of Rika's mind and body to become whole. Void felt a searing pain in her head, it was another flashback Dredgen Void: AHHHH!!! [i]Flashback A Year and Five Months Ago, In the Tower[/i] Rika walked back to her quarters, feeling miserable. She had been hearing whispers for about a month now. Things were getting worse, and she couldn't tell Malex. She wanted to, but it was like she was physically impossible for her to do so. Worst of all she had just accidentally slashed the man she loved! She needed to log this, and figure out what to do next. She walked to her door and laughed to herself, when Malex kicks open a door he REALLY kicks it open. She taped it closed and brought out her Ghost Rika: Ghost, start recording. (records Rika's log #11) Rika finished her recording and put away her ghost. She sighed and look at the Malfeasance in the display case, it was glowing again. Rika: UGH! What do I do!? She rolled over and tried to go back to sleep. [i]Present Day, Tangled Shore, Hive Tunnels[/i] Dredgen Void stood up. Over the past year she had been pursuing the darkness and fighting the light, even killing a guardian or two. But Rika had been fighting her the whole way and it needed to end. Now. She dusted herself off and continued on her journey down into the depths of the hive. She needed to learn to use the sword logic. [i] Meanwhile[/i] Malex and Elite-5 touch down.
