Continued Enhancement Core and Mod Component Discussion
Hey all,
A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/47706]TWAB[/url]. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.

I'm fine with the core system as it is but we definitely need other sources. I've seen some good ideas from other stating "why not make it part of a drop in heroics public event". This would definitely encourage players activating heroic. Most players rush through normal since heroics doesn't give better loot.

I thought the name was changed to better represent their roll? They should be used to "enhance" a guardians gear, bringing gear up to LL is not really an enhancement. The masterwork perks on weapons and armor are what ENHANCE gear.

While I don’t have issues with cores. The cores being included with the infusion is annoying especially if you are low on them. It’s a very artificial way to level up guns and armor. Maybe look at the stats for the amount of masterworked items in a player’s inventory. I feel the armor can do without cores because nobody invests in it. I would like to spend my cores to create a perfect weapon roll that I am allowed to customize and personalize myself. Like a service revolver or midnight coup but the player gets to choose the perks. Remove from infusion and do something like this.

We'll give you updates as we have them.[/quote] You guys should thank your lucky stars all the pvp maximum try hardest are dialing Cry-1-1 off the hooks in the forms over this event thing and grenade spam, and distracting everyone from this core debacle.

2 RepliesWhy not just add more Scrapper Bounties for more areas. For example: GAMBIT, GAMBIT PRIME, Black Armory... TANGLED SHORE AREAS, DREAMING CITY AREAS, maybe even raids .. etc Oh, while you’re at it. A one or two more rows to the pursuit (bounty) area in the inventory of each player. Or is that just too hard to do?

2 RepliesSeriously, adding cores to infusions is about the worst idea I've seen in a while. I play this game fairly regularly, and I don't have many masterworked weapons (excluding exotics) (Seriously...it's like...6, if you include horror story, oxygen sr3, and the ikelos sg I've kept around). And no masterworked armor of any kind. I don't terribly mind that masterworking a weapon now costs more (something like 17 cores now vs. 10 cores in year 1.....) but even in year 1 I didn't masterwork weapons that much. You guys messed up and refuse to accept it. You think everything is fine. Well I agree, like how applebees is "fine." (please read the sarcasm). Cores are not in a good place right now, I don't think they were in a great place in year one either, but you've doubled down on making things miserable. And don't get me started on mod components. until you could buy them from ada, I'd usually never be able to buy a mod. Ada helps....some. Simply put: mods and mod components need to be much more common. Bottom line: Make infusing/masterworking gear less painful, make cores a bit more common (Tired of feeling like Oliver Twist begging for table scraps), make mods/mod components much more common (Without Ada, I get more cores than I do mods and components, that's just wrong), and above all STOP LISTENING TO THE STREAMERS!!! THEY AREN'T INDICATIVE OF YOUR PLAYER BASE!!! Adding more grind just because a handful of people who literally do nothing other than play games all day say you should is a bad idea. They are the extreme minority and it's how you got into this mess.

5 RepliesEdited by IF0XI: 4/13/2019 2:22:23 AMI don't get people don't have enhancement cores i reached 700 shortly after tier 3 came out having only like 20 cores after infusing my favorite gear to 700 now i have 174 lol all you have to do is between dlcs just PLAY THE GAME and save your cores on cool new loot its 15 for all of your gear so at least have 15 like do a raid to get the masterworked weapons do the weekly clan thing if you dont PLAY THE GAME you won't get materials lol so honestly if you want to get enhancement cores use it on your favorite armor and weapons when you hit the light lv cap PLAY THE GAME and be wise with your infusing boo hoo if you can't use your armor if its low make using your favorite armor is an accomplishment for hitting max light which it should be its a small but cool feeling when your guardian looks like trash to looking like a God

Just change it so fully masterworked items don't need enhancement cores to infuse them up. So you can make a choice, is the weapon i am using perfect and ready to masterwork, or is it worth 1 core to raise it up.

If we're going to continue to deal with infusion costs, it is not enough. The weekly's reward should be emphasized a grand completion of a week's worth of gameplay. It should feel rewarding and emphasize a hefty reward of enhancement cores. If it's a Gunsmith's weekly package, the order of precedence in reward I currently would prefer is (descending): Enhancement Cores, Mods, Gunsmith Materials. That's not to say that Mods aren't important but there are currently other ways of obtaining them. When I pick up a weekly Gunsmith bounty, I want it to be worth doing.

1 ReplyPlease give us a way to get rid of resonate stems, eververse bounty notes, and black armory schematics, I have 824 stems, 593 eververse notes and 159 schematics that are useless to me and taking up space. At least let us be able to turn them into glimmer please...

3 RepliesI’m sure they’ll begin selling enhancement cores for bright dust at Eververse soon enough. They’ve created such a down in-game economy that people would absolutely spend real money to improve their experience. I could definitely see Bungie taking advantage of the player base with something like this. I mean they’ve already resorted to artificially extending play time with some pretty shady tactics so why not.
