Continued Enhancement Core and Mod Component Discussion
Hey all,
A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/47706]TWAB[/url]. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.

It doesn't help that instead of thinking of a reasonable way to acquire them you just add more bounties.... making them more accessible just begs the question "why are they even in there to begin with?" IF you are so ignorant to the player base and are so adamant in this nonsense than you could at least lower the cost... weapons should be tasks for some levels mats for other levels and use cores for level 6 and 10 Level 1 = 3000 glimmer Level 2 = 100 kills level 3 = 3000 glimmer + 1 shard + mats Level 4 = 100 kills + 25 precision damage + 1 shard + mats Level 5 = 3000g + 2 shards + mats + mats Level 6 = 150 kills + 25 pvp final blows + 2 cores + mats level 7 = 3000g + 3 shards + mats + mats + mats Level 8 = 200 kills + 25 precision kills + 25 PvP final blows + mats Level 9 = 3000g + 5 shards + mats + mats + mats + mats Level 10 = 8 cores ( just a quick idea im sure there are better routes to do this) all legendary should only need 1 core to infuse 2 if its a blue 0 if you are infusing an exotic exotics should require 2 cores if a legendary is the source of infusion 3 for blue 0 for exotic.

1 ReplySo let me get this right people found an exploit with many or most of them being streamers who stream your game some of who you listen to and invite to speak for the community. They get to keep those cores but the rest of us who did not use this exploit or even know about it till it had been pulled from the game have to still have to painfully grind boring tedious chore lists for days and weeks on end to get cores for infusing. Is this correct? This is exactly what I have heard. I saw a streamer say he got on over 1000 cores by doing it and was planning to still get more but I saw the vid after you made it so we couldn't do it. Adding these bounties to the game as added grind is not going to make me want to play and is not going to make me want to grind them out so I can level up. I want less grind more fun and more content not more grind more boring repeat grinding.

On top of this core stupidity there are leaks that indicate d3 will mix patrol with PvP. Griefed by players while on patrol sounds like a great way to make a tedious game even worse.

This isn't a fix, Bungie, this is just a bandaid on the bigger issue. REMOVE ENHANCEMENT CORES FROM INFUSION!!!

4 RepliesAs a reminder the entire infusion core economy as it stands now is built on a farm within a farm within a farm model. • Ghost fragments are needed to buy core bounties from spider. • Only activities on the tangled shore provide ghost fragments. • Players can only carry a stack of 20 ghost fragments. Which means not all core bounties can be purchased at once. Which means returning to spider to purchase the last two. • At some point before the weekly reset players will need to cap off their ghost fragments again if they want to buy more core bounties. • Some bounties require waiting in a patrol zone for a specific HVT to spawn- more RNG. This is purposely and insidious by design. Not only do players need a rare currency for infusion/masterworking but they also need a rare currency, only found in one location to buy bounties which yield the other rare currency. This, for me is the crux of the entire issue. This economy is by it's very design structured as yet another bottle neck to progression. For now scrapper bounties exist but players still rely on RNG to acquire them. Meaning some days players may be swimming in them and other days not so much. Finest matterweave drop less than scrapper bounties from dismantled gear. Giving banshee the scrapper bounties and having us pay for them is pure bait and switch. Remove cores from infusion. Keep them for master working if you must.

removing the part where you gotta grind for ghost fragments to get the spider bounties would also help alleviate some of the frustration that goes into acquiring these things ☝️ i think that would be a fair compromise on your guy’s part 🤝

Make Xur carry Cores that anyone can buy but don't sell it like Spider. Make cost cheap but not overly cheap and with consistency.

I put 75 cores into a year 1 gun i got 3 reloads in a row then a handling then 3 more reloads in a row so your solution for me is to go grind bounties to get 1 core each time. How people think killing off pvp will make the game better when the problem is clearly incompetence is beyond me

I mean most gamers including me are simple pew pew yay loot types but even we came up with the universe rattling solution of TAKE CORES OUT OF INFUSION !!! But they have to stop and think about it because you know 1,345,000 players want them out but 200 people at Bungie love them to much . Enjoy working for whatever studio you trick into hiring you next .

This is better, but I hope we can get PvE related weekly bounties for EC and Mod components. You mentionned valor and infamy points, which are both tied to PvP (to an extend) I hope there would be Vanguard variants that offers token as well as EC and Mod components. (I like running strikes back to back to farm those. I also wish you guys will introduce new strikes as well. We really need some new ones on the scale of the Forsaken ones (which are amazing).

I’m not going to take the bate and complain about potentially getting one core from a weekly bounty, just so you can respond and say you’ll up it to 7 or 10 and expect us all to move on and pretend like we got something. Don’t expect anyone else to either. I guess that might not be your intent. But then, if it was a mistake, you’d have corrected it by now. I also assume you don’t intend to insult us that much by actually meaning it.

Bungie should gift ALL ACTIVE PLAYING Accounts with 999 CORES!!!!!! There were TONS of players who used this exploit before the Streamers posted it and cried to Bungie to Fix it.

1 core and a mod for the weekly is weak sauce. Maybe 3 cores and a mod is more appropriate.

They need to be more readily available. They need to drop from any weekly bounty and and any powerful engram. We should be getting 2 a day without buying them from that fat turd on the tangled shore.
