Continued Enhancement Core and Mod Component Discussion

Hey all, A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the TWAB. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.
• Originally announced in the TWAB, these bounties would cost Gunsmith materials. This has been changed to Glimmer. • There will be multiple daily bounties to complete, each rewarding one enhancement core and two mod components • There will be two weekly bounties to complete. These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty. • Note: When I say rank points, think Valor or Infamy, **not** Glory.
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback over mod components, enhancement cores, and rewards all up. Thank you for the continued feedback. We'll give you updates as we have them.

Its called season of Opulence not season of stingy economic distribution. The biggest failure of this game is how Bungie keeps trying to make things difficult for dumb boring tasks. I dont care what the bounties are they arent fun they are chores and you reward 1 core for it. Instead make the weekly reward 25. If we have an insane amount WHO THE F CARES? Seriously what are people gonna stop playing because they have too many cores? Whoever is running these decisions is frighteningly tone deaf

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/251684384/0/0 Here's the link to a player made poll about EC.Make sure to give it a bump as well to keep it current. I'll relink this every day to give it the attention it needs. Bungie wouldn't make a poll as the numbers it presents would very obviously show that their decision on the matter is ridiculous. But someone here did 👍

        • As long as the end result is way more cores available to get than the reduction of scrapper bounties fine. I think the shift to glimmer from weapon parts is the wrong direction though...

        • While I would like to see cores for infusion removed, I do welcome the change of not requiring gunsmith materials for the bounties. I feel like the weekly bounty should reward more than just one enhancement core, maybe five per weekly bounty? My thinking for this is based on other bounties that I see, they usually cover a wide range of activities so doing all of the dailies each day may take away from the play experience. With two weeklies that reward five cores each, they are worth a player dedicating the time to complete those and with some saving up can begin to use cores as they want. This would also give players that are still catching up the choice to dedicate themselves to daily core bounties as well as the weeklies (and anyone else who wants to grind them). Additionally, it would be nice if we could leave the scrapper bounties in just as they are. With a guaranteed source from the core bounties and the spider scrapper bounties would just become a nice extra that people can choose whether or not to do them. I appreciate the fact that Bungie is trying to find a solution that fits the complaints players are having while still trying to stick to their original design so thank you for continuing to look for solutions. To the other players: while it is obvious most of us would like to see the cores removed from infusion completely, it is obvious that isn't going to happen. This does show us though that Bungie is willing to move a bit on the subject matter. Our best move going forward is trying to figure out compromises that work better and put our efforts into that instead of just continuing to shout about core removal. Bungie has our feedback, they know we want them gone. So if they're not being removed from the process, it's clear that we're going to be stuck with cores in infusion and this is the time for us to try and make the best of it.

              • Just remove them, it’s what most people want. Adding more ways to get cores doesn’t fix the problem, it only makes the devs at bungie look more incompetent because adding more ways to get cores goes against their ideology that infusing should be impactful.

Still don't understand why they would remove scrapper bounties. If people are complaining about not having enough cores, why would you remove one of the ways of getting cores? Why not remove cores from Spider's bounties? Scrapper bounties are the easiest and cheapest way to consistently get cores. Edit: How about you guys change the Masterwork cost back to 10 cores instead of 17? Still don't understand why that random number was settled on in the 1st place...

                • So what are you guys going to do about the people that now have 100 to 1,000+ cores. They clearly have an advantage over those that dont, and you can't just remove there extra cores because they could of already masterworked all there armor sets and weapons to prevent that.

I myself as a father and provider can see where you would just be a yes man and follow the orders of your superiors. But at some point you have to realize and this isn’t just for you but every Bungie team member, at this rate the game won’t last forever. And when it crashes and burns (at this rate sooner than later) you my friend will be looking for employment and you will be shackled with being the face of the worst mistake in gaming history. The majority of your community has spoken, and the little summit of streamers and yes men that blew smoke up the executives ass is truly not what we the people who play your game want. Think long and hard about your decisions they will have long lasting consequences.

                    • Can you at least keep scrapper bounties? if you remove these it will have a negative impact on players that don't currently have a problem with enhancement cores

                    • -blam!- this game... seriously. I had some desire to log in on the 16th, but your stance on Enhancement Cores is just dumb. The majority of the community doesn't want them and weekly bounties that only give you two a week is beyond insanity

                    • You guys are seriously the most incompetent studio in existence. The only reason you want these things for infusion is so you can inflate this dumpsters play time. There's nothing meaningful about it. You want to give people more cores by taking away one way to get cores. Let's not mention you are going to give one core for a weekly bounty get the fck out of here. College must be really going down hill if you guys are an example of what's being taught these days or they just give out degrees to people with iqs of 80 because your team is completely lacking the mental capacity for higher thought.

Wow, sounds fair, huh... 9 cores a week? Basically you can expect to wait 3 weeks to infuse one basic loadout, worst case scenario and none drop for you. If you are looking for a fully-masterworked loadout you will be grinding for months! Let's say you want to have a fully-masterworked set of year 1 digs. 3 x 9 = 27 cores to infuse it up to level 10 x 9 = 90 cores to masterwork it all Total = 117 cores for a shiny year one set. It will take you 13 weeks to get a year 1 set at base Masterworking. If you want to re-roll weapon masterworks, you can have 3 tries per week. A year 2 will be :- 27 cores to infuse it to level 9 x 17 = 153 cores to fully masterwork. Total = 180 cores. You won't wait a day longer than 20 weeks to have that set. Do they play their game, or what?

We'll give you updates as we have them.
Why do you lie to us? Feedback. Feedback usually involves listening; having a discussion. Instead you sit at your desk and do nothing. You guys dont even do state of the games, live q&as. Anything really. Hell, a good portion of your community doesnt want enchantment cores for infusion. INFUSION. Nothing about masterworking. INFUSION. Because they want their gear to look/have the stats they want on it. Sadly, you guys seem to miss the point on how you guys made your game. With shit like unflinching for certain guns. Were pvp is sometimes unplayable with out them. Or gather a certain ammo type to play as your strength. Instead you gives us half baked ideas instead of actually communicating with us. For what? What is your end game? If i had to grade this interaction with devs/costumer support. You guys would prob be a 3 at best. Look at massive for example, they do state of the game i believe biweekly. They address their issues they fix it. The reason why they have so much suppport is because they are willing to work towards their game, they understand happy costumer/gameplay means people will come back. Hell yes, they have lootboxes for cosmetics, but because the game is actually good i dont mind it so much. I dont mind supporting them as devs. Main reason why is because when division 1 was struggling; they literally stopped all dlc, and took the time to address all issues, and then started releasing dlc again. Here is things I feel you guys could do to change it. 1) once a month q&a. So we know you are infact listening, and what we ask and say arent falling on death ears. So you can at least give us some sort of reasoning behind some of your choices. 2) Actually listen and address your players concerns. We are the ones who you have to appease. We are the ones who gave you our money. We are the ones who you should make us comeback to day in and day out because the game is fun to play. not because stick and carrot mech.

Hey, you're going to have to stop calling it a discussion. It sounds like the devs had made their decision and isn't up for deliberation. When the devs wish to change it again then we could revisit this. There are more pressing matters to attend to. This should also be locked as nothing will come out of this.

                          • There is no discussion, the players want them removed full stop, bungie digging in heels and refusing to budge. Money talks and if you insist on being so pig headed there will only be one loser in a saturated market. First rule of business bungie the customer is always right.
