Continued Enhancement Core and Mod Component Discussion

Hey all, A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the TWAB. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.
• Originally announced in the TWAB, these bounties would cost Gunsmith materials. This has been changed to Glimmer. • There will be multiple daily bounties to complete, each rewarding one enhancement core and two mod components • There will be two weekly bounties to complete. These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty. • Note: When I say rank points, think Valor or Infamy, **not** Glory.
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback over mod components, enhancement cores, and rewards all up. Thank you for the continued feedback. We'll give you updates as we have them.

    • Wow sooo this is just more bungie doing what they do half measures. And saying We will continue to do what we want regurdless of what the fans want. Or what is obviously not working in the game. Because we have a vision. And OR VISION IS LAW. God I hate online games. I miss the days when a company dropped a game it came out . And ounce it was out that was it. Nothings getting changed nerfed or paused. Bungie has to much power . And yet they use it in all the wrong ways. There so many big issues still in D2. They refused to address or acknowledge. It's crazy. Defintly wont be buying D3. Bungie seems like slow learners. Compared to alot of other companies out there . Who are quick to fix and address things. Even when things get addressed with bungie they dont get fix for months and months. Heck I'm still waiting on a scout riffle fix they still suck and are underpowered . Charicters. Movement speeds. That go fast updated did anything but. This core things is reduclious. Take them out of the game. Infusing worked fine before. Then you decided everyone had to feel this heavey choice when upgrading armor. Redcilious

      • My god man. Tell the devs to just remove enhancement cores from infusion. That’s it. Until then, I will continue to NOT play this game. I may be just one person, but I’m one many who have stopped. It’s sad really. I love the franchise.

Discussion should go just like this.. Wow guys, the community really hates the cores. If we keep them, players are going to abandon the game. What should we do? Get rid of cores as part of infusion? Let's see hands for yeah or nah...Unanimous then, cores are history.

For weekly bounties could you reward like 5 enhancement cores or just more than one?

          •
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback
The feedback from the community is we don't want Enhancement Cores! They would be acceptable if you only infused once or twice a week but we're getting so many drops one point higher that the currently equipped piece of gear that we are infusing every 5 minutes. Look at it... Planetary Materials Glimmer Legendary Shards Gunsmith Materials Enhancement Cores. When did we ever have such a high cost to upgrade before?

          • dmg, On 4/1/2019, I began playing with zero cores. As I deleted them, all 563 cores, at the demand of VERY senior forum members who have been invited to your summits. So, I deleted them all. In the roughly ten days that followed 4/1/2019, I’ve moved from max power level on highest character of low 670’s to full max 700 on one. I’ve accumulated WELL over 100 cores since then, I’ve masterworked my Blast Furnace, I’ve infused to 700 my new warlock exotic gauntlets, I’ve infused numerous other items, mostly same item to same item though. I’m still sitting at roughly 100 cores. From my personal experience, the core economy isn’t overly burdensome. Feel free to pull my history, from deleting my 563 cores until now and publish it, as an example, if you would like.

Everyone needs a job). You'll get more respect from the community that way. These people don't want to improve your game. They want to make it easier. trust me. It's apparent in many many posts about adult children who can't grasp the concept of personal time and would rather blame you for it than realize it's their fault. You guys worry about more pressing matters as you have been.

              • Thanks for the update. To the rest in here, yesterday I picked up 10-15 cores turning in Vanguard tokens and dismantling items looking for the god roll Service Revolver. Another 10 dropped for me when completing, if I remember correctly, the 100K nightfall. I also picked up some more just dismantling items I didn't want just doing stuff. I haven't gone to Shaxx or the planetary vendors for a while so I could probably pickup some more there. Plus I'm sitting on 45 Matterware. Then there is Spider where you can buy 2-3 a day. Funny thing, I was going through my congested vault deleting some items and infusing others and quickly ran out of Glimmer. REMOVE GLIMMER FROM INFUSIONS! LOL

Thanks for the update. I guess my biggest request for this then is that those gunsmith bounties are fun and interesting. Also that they aren't too time consuming or have to go out of my way to do too much.

                • I think it’s a definite improvement upon the last idea. I was worried that mods were going to compete with Enhancement Cores but this idea stops that. Good. The only bad aspect is the weekly only giving 1 Enhancement Core. I know it gives a mod too but let’s face it the community has a problem with Enhancement Cores not mods. Throw in a couple more Enhancement Cores into the weeklies and I think you’ve found your solution. Will the mods be the original mods or will Ada’s mods be in the loot pool?

                  • OKAY HERE IS THE MOST SIMPLE AND EASY SOLUTION FOR BUNGIE/DEVS/COMMUNITY. BUNGIE UNFORTUNATELY WONT REMOVE ENHANCEMENT CORES FROM THE GAME FOR WHAT-EVER REASON. SINCE IT SOUNDS LIKE WERE GOING TO GO TO BANSHEE-44 TO GET BOUNTIES TO COMPLETE AND RECEIVE ENHANCEMENT CORES. WHY DON’T YOU/DEVS MAKE A SYSTEM WHERE GUNSMITH MATERIALS CAN BE TRADED FOR ENHANCEMENT CORES. IM SURE EVERYONE FROM HARDCORE GUYS TO CASUALS HAS A BUNCH OF GUNSMITH MATERIALS JUST SITTING IN THEIR INVENTORY NOT GETTING USED. LETS FACE IT NO ONE GOES TO BANSHEE-44 ANYMORE TO GET WEAPONS RIGHT?? GUNSMITH MATERIALS FOR ENHANCEMENT CORES. SIMPLE ECONOMICS. Just a personal opinion and I’m sure most of the guys in the community will agree. Thanks in advance for taking the time for reading this. Cheers 🍻

                    • So, the pinnacle weapon exploit finally broke the enhancement core economy.. anyone that did not get around to using the exploit is at a serious disadvantage now.. looking at how long it takes to masterwork anything... Since you guys broke it completely with a mistake of your own (not that it was not a total -blam!- up before the exploit) how about stepping up to the plate, admitting it was a -blam!- up, a failed experiment, that led to everything except "impactful" decisions, and finally reverting the enhancement cores back to masterworking only. you can keep all the new bounties etc.. but just remove them from infusion to at least pretend to have a leveled playing field.. or probably your analysis now shows that there are plenty of cores in the world that are not spent.. then on paper it looks even more workable than before??? :) oh look there thousands of unspent cores in player inventories (nevermind that they are limited to the players getting to the exploit in time).... really enjoyed spending my gaming time in destiny, hell from a gameplay point of view, still do, even though some of it is too repetitive.. but yeah.. you guys keep making decisions that essentially tell your players to go to other games...

                    • Guys, i hate enhancement cores too, but i think most of the people here are exaggerating this problem. You guys don't have to enhance every piece of armor and every weapon. There are other, more important issues than this in my opinion. Like unability to reroll perks on armor and weapons that extends grind time for that specific part you need(and also not letting us to just look the way we want). Or like shotgun oriented maps in Crucible. Or like exotic armor drop rate, lets not forget we have random perks there too and i would like to be able to have perks that suits my weapons. Or not enough strikes. And many more issues i would like to be solved instead of removing cores. Honestly i think Bungie is doing right thing giving us more sources for obtaining cores, lets just wait and see their solution in action before we start panicking.

                      • Why not reward one core for every 500 kills regardless of activity most of us can get 500 kills very easily . That way cores are easily accessible to all

                      • I don’t enjoy having to stockpile max level items needed to infuse the gear I want to wear but can’t because I’m out of infusion cores. Meaningful choice? You gave me the gear and then made it so I can’t use it. No idea why Bungie chose this hill to die on. I’d rather not get the max level gear than have it sit in my inventory mocking me. I also don’t want to run an hours worth of old stuff I’ve done a thousand times just to get 2 or 3 infusion cores.
