You do get rewarded for playing If you know how to get the rewards you need. This game has been so dumbed down that you almost always get what you want with minimal effort. The bottom line is the game doesn't reward you for being at cap anyways. There is no reason to be 700 because every activity is capped. Your 700 doesnt matter in any raid, strike, gambit, crucible or whatever. If you do leviathan your a 300 power level. Period. Last wish 540, SOTP 650. Why even try to get to 700 when it doesn't help you at all.
