Agree. They probably don't have established NPS KPIs, or any other standing satisfaction or sentiment metrics in place to get an actual pulse of the base and how it is currently trending. So they fall back on stats like playtime, core inventory / usage etc to make decisions. Which is why we end up with these non-solutions. They figure that gamers are naturally vocal, that forum users are a small non-representative sample (oh how I love that one...) and comprised of haters / fans etc and so everything gets watered down in the extreme by the time it hits the devs, which are quite manifestly disconnected from the base and reality... I mean one core for a weekly FFS... Here is why is still don't get the approach... Why assume that removing cores would alienate the ones defending them? They add absolutely nothing positive in and of themselves. The sense of accomplishment could be obtained differently (see exotic catalysts for ex...) Great if some don't mind them.... I honestly doubt they would start hating the game or leaving if they were removed. Did anyone complain about Etheric light getting deprecated in D1? Nope. So why continue to alienate the dissatisfied portion of the base when removing cores from infusion would not, in turn, alienate the ones who don't mind them...
