Continued Enhancement Core and Mod Component Discussion

Hey all, A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the TWAB. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.
• Originally announced in the TWAB, these bounties would cost Gunsmith materials. This has been changed to Glimmer. • There will be multiple daily bounties to complete, each rewarding one enhancement core and two mod components • There will be two weekly bounties to complete. These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty. • Note: When I say rank points, think Valor or Infamy, **not** Glory.
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback over mod components, enhancement cores, and rewards all up. Thank you for the continued feedback. We'll give you updates as we have them.

 •
Here we go (comment more and I'll add them): --Many exotic weapons feel worse than legendaries. When was the last time you pulled out Hard Light or Sunshot? What about The Prospector or Crimson? So many exotics offer little to no benefits over a well-rolled legendary (for example, compare a Bygones with rampage and outlaw to a Vigilance Wing. Which would you prefer to use?) --Scout rifles, auto rifles, and fusion rifles are garbage, with a few exceptions. Scouts lose out to pulses, autos to hand cannons or shotguns, and fusion rifles have been a meme for years. While there are archetypes of these weapons that are viable in certain circumstances, as a whole they are underwhelming. --Supers in PVP are nearly impossible to outplay using a neutral toolkit, and they are overly abundant due to super mods and orbs of light. Most, if not all, snipers should be able to headshot kill a super. Two shotguns shots should as well. In their current state, even teamshooting a super isn't reliable. There are only two ways to reliably shut down a super: counter with your own, or use heavy. And, since the team that snowballs first typically has control of the heavy, the latter isn't an option--as for your own supers, by the time you have them the 3 spectral aids have farmed your team off spawn thrice, the god-tier dawnblade Korean overwatch player has picked up their orbs and is flying across the map lasering people, and Captain America gone purple is well on his way to his third super with doomfangs and ursa furiosa. --Spectral Aids is tremendously unbalanced. Wall hax, wombo combo, and an impossible to kill super that lasts forever with the now universally-held gwisin vest makes players ragequit. It's not uncommon to go into competitive and see an entire team of spectral aids, each running 5 super mods, of course. --Masterwork cores hurt the game when they are required for infusion. Despite there being dozens of posts demanding they be removed, some with over a thousand upvotes, Bungie refuses to do so, and due to their "philosophy" of trying to make our choices "meaningful", hard working players are unable to grab their pinnacle weapons. --Strikes and missions are easy and boring. The lack of loot doesn't help, either. Whoever designed loaded question and the oxygen must have been playing a ton of strikes; their mundane design befits the requirements to obtain them. --Many quests and bounties are simply fetch quests with a handful of "talk to ____" thrown in. Why do I have to go to the tower at all? There should be a system of grabbing bounties no matter where you are, a vault selectable from orbit, and eververse and vendors should sell their wares in space. I don't want to travel to the tower for five minutes, walk around grabbing bounties for another five, and then having to go to two different planets to talk to spider and petra. The tower should be what it says it is: a social space, where people can find fireteams and chat with other players. --Updates to the sandbox/game are few and far between. It took months to nerf nova warp, months to buff spectral aids, it's taking months to nerf spectral aids, scouts are still bad, many weapons still lack catalysts, there's still no solo queue or suicide penalty in competitive, hand cannons that aren't 180s still have bloom on console, and pc is dominated by AoS, the hand cannon with four perks. --There are no skill trees for subclasses. Remember when you could spec out your subclass in D1? That's gone. --There is no way to transfer saves between platforms. --30fps and slow loading times on console. I guess I'll just let my Xbox One X or PS4 Pro be useless. --Mercury. --Bosses are all the same. I wonder what mechanic this boss will have...oh he just boss stomps like every other one. Every. Single. One. --Unnecessary nerfs. I thought people were trolling when they said Bungie had nerfed Fighting Lion, but nope, they did. Also: Whisper, Sleeper, Queenbreakers, Orpheus Rigs, Ursa Furiosa, ect. --No in game LFG. Sure, there's guided games, but no one uses it. --Titles locked by RNG. I hate to tell you, but you're never going to get that last weapon or cosmetic. It just won't happen. --Most Y1 gear is useless. Give random rolls to them already. Since they only have one perk and can't have a mod, compared to most post-Forsaken weapons they're inferior. --Exotic weapons can't have mods. I want a rampage spec on my masterworked huckleberry. Please. --We can't enter forges from orbit. --Light level is an arbitrary grind. The majority of time spent in-game after a new content release is spent grinding out milestones. I personally hate having to do flashpoints or heroic missions, yet in order to level up I sometimes do them anyway. Some people hate crucible, and don't want to play 5 games of super spam to get their third set of powerful gauntlets in a row. Content should be scaled based on difficulty settings, as is common with many games. Doing more difficult tasks could offer greater chances for exotics, curated rolls, and exclusive gear. --Vendors are boring. Selling the same weapons, week after week. We need a vendor refresh system like we had in D1. --Most maps in the crucible are too small for 6v6. --Most exotic armor is awful. Usually they're only useful if they affect the super in some way. The neutral game in D2, whether in PVE or PVP, isn't impactful enough to reward buffs. (OEM and others excepted, of course). --Glide still sucks compared to lift. --The armor in this game is ugly. Scatterhorn armor...eugh. The rest are only marginally better. --Iron Banner has light level advantages again. Because everyone loves getting "outplayed" by a sweaty 700 light player. --Trials is gone, and probably won't come back. While I never excelled at trials, it was a fun thing to do with friends every few months, and competitive is a poor substitute. --Many animations are too slow. Tether, barricade, rift, thundercrash, ward of dawn, etc. --Eververse broke the promise of not being pay to win. Guiding light, instant summon, and the ability to obtain armor can affect the game, and are not purely cosmetic.
