Pretty sure the VAST majority of players find enhancement cores a chore, and not fun. I honestly never understood making them apart of the infusing process to begin with. The whole "if it isn't broken then don't fix it", saying really applies here.
I doubt the dev team really cares at this point, and have just turned away from this thread altogether. So many valid discussions, and ideas have been given to correct what is obviously flawed, but still nothing.

Steamers and youtubers feedback.... They wanted your gear to have a more meaningful sense of progression they wanted the Destiny 1 gear leveling system back Bungie however took this to mean they simply wanted a longer grind and easiest way that is less work for them was to make infusion a long boring and tedious grind... I'm sure Bungie is like same thing as what you was asking for right?

But infusion is not a long boring grind. It only takes 2 cores, or 3 for exotic at most, to infuse a weapon up. On the other hand, Masterworking takes a whole lot of cores. That's where the argument weakens . . .because if there was no need for cores for infusion, there would still be the same grind for cores for Masterworking that there is now. So are ppl who want cores removed from infusion saying they don't want to Masterwork, just infuse? Like I said infusing is easy, it's the Masterworking that takes so much grind time. I'm just curious bc none of it bothers me either way it ends up.

Its RNG built into a basic system that should not have any RNG... In Destiny 2 everything is RNG based which is what makes everything feel like a pointless boring grind its an artificial way of extending play time..
