Pretty sure the VAST majority of players find enhancement cores a chore, and not fun. I honestly never understood making them apart of the infusing process to begin with. The whole "if it isn't broken then don't fix it", saying really applies here. I doubt the dev team really cares at this point, and have just turned away from this thread altogether. So many valid discussions, and ideas have been given to correct what is obviously flawed, but still nothing.
