I believe it’s a very good thing to have this discussion pinned. I really do, but it’s also getting to be that time for us to have a real reason behind Bungie’s decision. I think there may be a path to us both (Community and Bungie) getting what we want, but only if we can have an honest dialogue. Without that honesty, we are both in a corner. - Community committed to removing cores. - Bungie committed to whatever underpins cores. That’s not a healthy cycle. Fatigue is the only result in almost every aspect from gameplay to comms to brand et. Al. For the sake of argument, if we accept that the only reason cores exist in infusion is meaningful choice, then removing them from that process ends this whole issue. Meaningful choice is inherent in the game already, which is fundamentally why no one accepts the argument. So, maintaining that argue while refusing to remove them can only prove that there is some other reason. If we do not get to that discussion, you’ll lock us both in this cycle indefinitely. Fatigue and mistrust will keep many from playing D3 and land you right back here again with those that remain... if you even manage to get to that point.

 •
So, maintaining that argue while refusing to remove them can only prove that there is some other reason.
Of course, to give us something to grind for in order to inflate the /played time. They know that the quantity of actual content coming with the anal pass is abysmal so they have to stretch out everything to infinity to mask that shortcoming. I think at this point it's proven multiple times that the emotion evoked by the process of infusion is clearly not "meaningful" or "impactful" but rather "annoying" or "frustrating". So evidently Bungie doesn't care one bit about how this whole thing feels to its players. They are just afraid that more and more people will realize how little new content there is right now.

 • Well said. To quote my favorite TV pop psychologist, "There is the topic...and then there is the issue. Most issues don't get resolved because people only feel safe talking about the topic." This isn't getting resolved because we're fighting over the TOPIC. ...but we Bungie is unwilling to actually dialogue with the community on this, and we're left to GUESS at what the real issue is. I belive that real issue is that Bungie has pivoted to the next game....and is using the Live Team from Destiny 1 to lead the development on the next game. (Which is fine, imo). But they've reduced their support of THIS game, but are unwilling to accept the consequence for doing so. They want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to supply the game with only the thinnest layer of content....but still have us grind away at this game like it has the sort of robust loot table that Destiny 1 had. ...and it just doesn't. People know it doesn't.. ...and they resent all the subterfuge that Bungie is resorting to in order to manipulate us into continuing to play, without actually rewarding that play. Because Bungie is both too arrogant and too scared to deal with us honestly. ...and trying to deal with it the way they're going about it only makes matters worse.
