Bungie. They structured the entire game to force you to play it in a particular way....and to withhold progression and access to your current gear if you fail to comply.

I've never been forced to play destiny a certain way. I've also never been restricted. I have more cores then I know what to do with. For the most part I waste them fully masterworking dumb weapons because why not? All my favorite weapons are already fully masterworked 🤷♂️
