an exploit is bungie fault, and those that knew about the exploit likely didn't have issue with inventory anyways. And being that everyone had fair chance to do exactly the same thing if they had the weapons.. there is no issue.. its unfortunate that some took advantage and others may not have known but, its not the key to the issue that people are upset about.
