Part of the problem that Bungie has created for themselves.....and is trying to fix with cores..... ....is that they are letting people DRAG YEARS worth of loot behind them, and they don't have the BALLS to simply RESET THE GAME. YOU HAVE to do this because that is where your ability to create NEW loot comes from, and where a lot of the replayability of a game like this comes from. But instead Bungie took the shortcut last year of trying to band-aid a broken loot system....by having people grind for pinnacle weapons. But one that led to people being invested in keepign those weapons. Which made Bungie unwilling to force a hard reboot fo teh game going into Year 2. So now you have a game where people are dragging around all this old gear....and since Bungie lacks the courage to tell us that we can't use it any mroe and cant level it up any further..... ...they just add cores to the game, and pry the stuff out of our hands by denying us the resources to level them up. But at the cost of forcing the game into having to be played in a very narrow , rigid, and unsatisfying way. Like I said. Bungie is the outlier here. They have NO -blam!-ING idea what they're doing....and they're trying to make it up as they go along. Instead of learning from the successes....and failures....of those companies who DO know how to do this right.
