Shit, you're old enough to know better.
I didn't answer your question because in my 51 years I've learned that Its a waste of my time to try to reason with someone who is committed to being irrational. To try to argue fact and principle to someone who is coming from a place of pure ego, emotion and identity.
Its like trying to argue someone out of their religious beliefs. A giant waste of time.
