It seems the simplest way to solve the problem of economy until something more permanent can be done about it....otherwise the people who used the exploit a few weeks ago are now far better off than people who either chose not to exploit or didn't hear about it until afterwards... That's going to throw off their whole progression curve in opulence.... Well that's my opinion anyway.
