Why do we need these new bounties at all? Unlike many, I dont actually think the problem is with the way that cores are needed for infusion and masterworking. I try to limit the number of cores I use by infusing the same weapon into my saved best roll (which doesnt cost any cores) when I am levelling up and then only infusing my favourite gear when I get to max power level for the season. I have plenty of masterworked weapons but have few masterworked armour pieces. The problem really is not with the system but more with the economy, if you need cores you need to stop what you are doing and go off to do something time consuming that will only reward you with 1 core. If you just made every activity that counts towards a weekly milestone give you a set number of cores then people can get a few each week by just playing the game but if they want to get a specific number to fully masterwork a weapon or a armour piece they would have a way to grind for it. So perhaps: 1 core for a Vanguard Strike, Crucible Match, Gambit Match, Gambit Prime 2 cores for a Nightfall, Tier 3 Reckoning 3 cores for a Raid If necessary you could put some limit on the number you can get from each source per week. But the average player would easily be able to earn 10-15 cores a week just by doing their weekly milestone activities and chose to either use them for infusion or masterworking, but they would still not be prevalent enough to mean that you would not think twice before you were to use them on something. This would also surely be an easy thing to do given it must be fairly simple to adjust the loot for an activity to include some cores.

 •
I try to limit the number of cores I use by infusing the same weapon into my saved best roll (which doesnt cost any cores) when I am levelling up and then only infusing my favourite gear when I get to max power level for the season.
That's the problem. The system was DESIGNED to FORCE you to play this way. Because it slows down progression....and wrings the maximum amount of play time out of a limited amount of content....FOR BUNGIE. We play a lot...for few if any NEW rewards. Now the question is HOW IS YOUR EXPERIENCE OF THE GAME BEING IMPROVED by limiting your play in this fashion?? How is YOUR experience being improved by Bungie artificially breaking that grind up into to two seperate parts by undersupplying teh game with cores....so you can't level up the gear you want to use WHILE you are levelling up to cap? Answer: Its not.

 • I know it is subjective but for me I quite enjoy revisiting some of the old guns. In that respect it is better than D1 because their a year 1 gun was useless in year 2. So if I get a crap roll go figure, then I have two options: I can use some cores to infuse it into my god roll blast furnace (which is my favourite pulse rifle right now) or I dont and infuse it into my best go figure in my vault and play with that for a while For most activities, a decent pulse rifle is a decent pulse rifle and for things like a vanguard strike either will do. If I get a crap roll nightshade then I would either keep it to up my overall power calculation while I am powering up and use my next best weapon or use it for infusion.fuel. You can get 2 cores a day for 30 shards from spider so that means you could infuse one weapon today even if you dont get cores from anywhere else. What I dont do is everytime I get a weapon that is a handful of power levels higher than my favourite gun, is infuse it into my favourite and if you decide to do that then I think it is right that you dont have enough cores to masterwork every weapon in your vault. Cores should be rare enough that you have to make a conscious decision on when to use them and when to save them up. That said, I can see that the economy is not quite right for many people which is why I was suggesting we should get some more cores from everyday activities rather than have to do some other activity to get soime. I am not sure more bounties are the best solution. For me cores is not the most broken thing in this game by any means.

 • Cores for every rank, Crucible or Gambit or otherwise, reached. Cores for every Ingram we redeem for tokens from vendors. Not at random. Every Ingram. Cores for gaining ranks in competitive. Add these as well and I think we have a solution.

 • Masterworking armor is a waste of cores but that's just my opinion 🤷‍♂️

 • That's what I do and did. But by that definition of waiting to level up so you don't waste cores, have they not already dictated and controlled how you play? Is that the experience you want from something that honestly adds zero value but removes so much more? Sure I have 400 cores but that's because I didn't use any leveling up till I was max or close and that's sad cause I had to use weapons I don't enjoy. That's the bigger picture here.
