Yeah the people who say cores are fine are the people who don't have a good reason as to what makes them good.
There's so many reasons they suck that can all be summed up very simply in a single sentence, but no reasons they should stay and no example of the good they bring to the game. I see people who want them gone called casuals...
What the hell? Wanting a simpler infusion system so we can focus properly on our gear and masterworking makes people casual? I mean the most common observation is simply, they aren't good for gameplay. They slow everything down and sure it primarily impacts casual players, it's not like it doesn't affect those between casual and hardcore or that those players don't matter.
One more thing, what about new players? Players who haven't even had the chance to decide how much they'll play yet. What happens when they need to farm for cores but find themselves limited? What reason is the game giving to continue? You're not grinding gear at this point, you're grinding resources. So why play this looter shooter when you're being told to go farm other crap that shouldn't be necessary? Go play Borderlands or something instead, you may farm but at least you're getting something.
