Personally still don't think the enhancement core thing is an issue and I don't even play that much. I sit on around 30-50 average and I have so many masterworked weapons. I think people just don't really make good choices with infusion is the thing. I mean, what exactly do you need to be at 700 light for nowadays. Let's be honest 690 minimum will get you through everything, just infusing everything to 700 for the sake of it ALL being 700 is ridiculous. The only things I actually insta 700 are armour pieces I get from Eververse. However, seeing as a lot of the community has been so crazy about it for so long I can't say it is not an issue, just not one I think is all that important in the grand scheme of thing. I'm glad Gunsmith bounties are back and hope that it is method that will satisfy the community when it hits.
